Best Italian restaurants nearby. Discover the best Italian food in Amalfi. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for Italian restaurants near you.. If it's your first time visiting the Amalfi Coast, chances are you'll do a double-take the first time you see a roadside lemon stand. Yes, those are lemons, and yes, they are the size of your head. But despite their freakish appearance, you will grow to love these lemons because the locals use them to produce limoncello. And take it from us, there's nothing like a glass of limoncello as you gaze out at the sea from the balcony of your hotel in Amalfi. It's pretty much perfection.

Taverna degli Apostoli

The restaurants in cathedral square Amalfi were packed to capacity and finding a place to have some lunch, was proving very difficult, but luckily hidden away up a few steps in the shadow of the cathedral, we found this lovely little restaurant the Taverna degli Apostoli, serving the most amazing food, I had a Caprese salad like no other I have ever tasted, and my daughter said the pasta was the best she had ever eaten. The deserts too were delicious and well worth finding extra room for. The restaurant is run by a local couple who care so deeply about both the food and the service, nothing is to much trouble. This is definitely one of our best foodie memories of a great holiday on the beautiful Amalfi coast.

This restaurant is absolutely fabulous, and actually quite good value considering the quality of food and service. We dined here on a Tuesday evening - you must sit on the balcony with a beautiful view of the sea. The meal was perfect, start to finish. The octopus appetizer was the best fish dish I've ever had in my life - no words can do it justice. Just try it. And everything else we had on the menu was splendid. No further details are warranted - just go! Best meal we had on our two week honeymoon in Italy!

Family run restaurant serving high end meals in a beautiful setting overlooking the bay. One of the family picks you up and another drops you off at your hotel. Like most of the more expensive restaurants we visited on the Amalfi Coast, nearly everyone is a tourist - few speaking Italian. One of the four sons is the main chef. We were very pleased with our experience.

This family run restaurant is located uphill, ~30 minutes hike from the Amalfi center. Reportedly they grow all the ingredients they serve on their menu, therefore NONE of the dishes (except for the cold cuts) contain any meat products. We weren't aware of this detail and I wish we would have known that ahead of time since I would not have visited and would have avoided the trip up there.First of all, the hike was pretty brutal, especially under the intense Amalfi Coast heat. There was no signage to guide us through the hike, but my iPhone GPS did a pretty goo job in getting us there. Once we got there we had a table reserved outside but we were too hot and sweating profusely to even think properly so we asked to be sat inside. After we cooled down and recovered our senses we walked out to the patio area to check it out and it was actually nice with some shade and a cool breeze. We still opted to stay inside though since we had some drinks already served at our table. The menu is rather limited with only a couple of main dishes offered and it seems they change it depending on what they have available from their garden/farm. They don't have much in terms of wine selection and the time we visited they only had red house wine to offer. They do have lemon drinks served in multiple different versions (limonata, granita, slushy, etc).We started off with the fried zucchini flowers which were the highlight of the meal and the only dish we actually enjoyed. We ordered another appetizer dish to share, frisella (or fresella?), which was like a bruschetta except it was a single, hard, large piece of twice baked bread topped with a few ingredients like onions, peppers, and sun dried tomatoes. It was boring and definitely not memorable in a good way. For our main entrees we had the pasta of the day dish which was a baked bucatini pasta, with provolone cheese and tomato (think lasagna here) and a lemon risotto. We ate the pasta dish because we were starving but it was not good at all. Not sure why they chose to bake the pasta, I think it would have been a much better dish if it would have just been cooked with tomato and cheese as the sauce. And the risotto, where do I even start? It was lemony and fragrant for sure, but really it was just a plain plate of rice, boring and lacking creativity.Although Amalfi is known for having way too many tourist traps for restaurants, I think any of the city center places would have been better than this one. The hike up there was definitely not worth the effort (and a close call for heat exhaustion), time or money. Although the meal was not expensive, the restaurant in my opinion does not deserve the 5-star rating it's gotten on other review platforms. The service was friendly enough, but it doesn't justify the visit. We didn't even want to experiment with dessert, although it looked like it could have been a decent choice, sadly we were just over the whole experience and wanted it to be over so we could hike our way back down to Amalfi under the scorching heat as quickly as possible.

After spending a week in Positano and eating at a different restaurant for every lunch and dinner, I can say that D’Aiello’s Family exemplifies what I would describe if asked about an “authentic Positano experience”.Located on the second floor of the small Hotel Savoia, the restaurant has approximately twenty tables on their terrace and a bit more than that inside. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, without being pretentious. We enjoyed wine, appetizers, pasta, seafood and even a very well-prepared steak. Everything was excellent, with pricing a bit below what we expected for food and service of this caliber. The wine list was not overpowering, but had a nice assortment of local wines for every price point. The service was professional, personal and engaging. Our waiter made us feel right at home and never “phoned it in” as is so typical of tourist destinations.Highly recommend.

After reading a lot of reviews on here we were excited to try Tony’s. However we were very underwhelmed by the food and service. All the Italian speaking tables were greeted warmly and served drinks and bread. We were served drinks but given oil...We ordered 4 starters, Two turned up on one dish and were very small for the price, the rest ample size. However until the last starter (at least 5 minutes after the others) arrived no plates were given so we were juggling the food to eat whilst hot. If the place had been busy I could almost understand but the waiting staff were standing next to our table! The fried mozzarella was so burnt it was inedible. We left it but no one asked if ok. The starters were cleared before my youngest had had chance to eat his. I had to take the plate back! The mains were nice. The drinks good. The service ok but totally missing anything which would make it special. Such a shame.
