Seguendo i consigli di tripadvisor abbiamo scelto questo pub. Le aspettative alte sono state ampiamente superate dopo l'assaggio.Tutto impeccabile: la presentazione, il servizio da parte di ragazzi gentili, preparati che ci hanno dato consigli e spiegazioni riguardo i piatti, e poi gli hamburger, i bagels...i DOLCI!!! Fantastici, ci ritorneremo spesso anche se è lontano, consigliatissimo!

The location of this place is simply stunning, situated in high hillside farming land offers views for miles around. The place offers individual cooking all made from the owners own land. The bread is made from his own wheat, the wine he makes, the olives he grows, I could go on endlessly.He offers a fixed price dining menu that will leave you astounded, as much as you can eat and drink the endless copious wine.As it's difficult to find if you staying in Gioiosa you can telephone for a pick up service so you don't have to worry about driving around twisting lanes.You can visit just for day time lunch and enjoy the spectacular views. Oh yes, also produces his own olive oil which is gorgeous tasting. Highly recommend taking time out to visit and eat here.

This one unusual place, which is difficult to find (as many are in Calabria), when you enter you are greeted by the wonderful aroma of dried meats which are hung from the ceiling remember to duck your head as you walk around. We were a party of 19 and occupied the entire length of the main eating area, there is another room equally decorated with the hanging meats which is also a dining area. The table was laid with a whole variety of salami's, even horse (don't be squeamish it taste wonderful), cheeses, olives, bread large flagons of self filling wine, water and lemonade. Another dish they provided was lardo on warm bread coated with honey. Lardo which is that rich tasting fat but the addition of the honey really tempers richness of it and it a taste sensation.Following the starters there was then a procession of different types of meat beginning, with chicken, boar, turkey, pork and so on until you say basta (enough). This then followed by a light almond parfait and the wonderful liqueurs. The cost of this wonderful feast was 25 euros ahead. Looking forward to a return visit

I was recommended to try this place which is just 5 mins from gioiosa old town in Martone. Traditional setting with wooden table and chairs with table cloths. We were advised there was no menu but offered more or less whatever we wanted . A bit confusing if you are price conscious . In fact we had so much antipasti dishes it WAS our meal. The food was a surprise as we did not know what was going to arrive next but between us all we ate everything up.Family orientated and east pleading family restaurant. Great if you want to trial authentic italian local dishes but also caters for individual needs.Well worth a visit if you nearby.

It was almost by accident that we came across this delightful restaurant in the main street. There was an English / Italian menu on the front wall and after looking it over we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. We were met by the owner, welcomed warmly and seated at our table. We were immediately impressed by the modern, clean and tasteful furnishings and decor, and, the unobtrusive pleasant background music. The menu was extensive enough to satisfy most tastes and the prices very reasonable. Our food came in good time, was hot and delicious. It was probably the best meal we have had since arriving in this area 3 weeks ago. This restaurant is new and deserves many more customers. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed. This is a nice little restaurant located in the Foca area. Good food with a nice setting whether inside or outside. The cost is also very moderate with good service.

Don't order the house wine or pizzas... We got back to the apartment and had to queue for the toilet the food was so bad...we where there 4 years ago and didn't like it then either but thought we'd try it again... Big mistake .
