I travel often around the world for work and pleasure and today, in occasion of a short vacation with my family, we decided to visit la capannina. The restaurant is a hidden gem, nestled in a cup-de-sac on locriâs lungomare. The view from every table are breathtaking and the food is definitely memorable. We had a feast of fish and seafood and everything was extremely fresh and prepared with skills worthy of master chefs! Presentation is unpretentious but the food is outstanding and possibly one of the best fish and seafood Iâve ever had. Great restaurant!

Beef is served on a heated stone and it finishes its cooking at your table, the quality is fantastic! Not easy to find great beef in Calabria, but Joe Pizza has it!! Great spot! Owner offers a great homemade chocolate liquor after your meal. Chips are homemade, great!

Almeno una o due volte l'anno andavo in questo locale in stile country, arredato tutto in legno, molto semplice e alla mano, con illuminazione bassa e rilassante. Ci torniamo con mio marito, questo dicembre. Ci accorgiamo subito dell'insegna diversa però sempre con lo stesso nome ma non ci facciamo caso. Entriamo e... Tutto completamente diverso e opposto. Arredo precedente inesistente. Disposizione tavoli e locale totalmente diversi. Tutto bianchissimo, illuminatissimo e tendente allo stile classico-moderno. Numero dei tavoli ridotti rispetto a prima. Insomma, avrete capito che non c'entra niente.Ad ogni modo il menù consiste in pizzeria, paninoteca e stuzzicheria. Abbiamo ordinato due panini (che arrivano già di per sé con le patatine), serviti in dei taglieri in ferro o pietra, non ho ben capito. Erano abbastanza buoni, come anche le patatine e la salsa di contorno. Sicuramente non ci tornerò perché non mi piace il genere di locale. E tra l'altro perché faceva freddo. Nella media insomma.

We are regular diners at this family run restaurant, where we are always greeted warmly, but apart from that we also enjoy our meals, from starters to finish. First usually a seafood salad, followed for me with a fresh fish dish, last time my husband had a tuna steak which he said was great, but serving just a bit much for him.had a nice white wine to wash done. In all good meal and very good value.

As a couple, we went to this restaurant found on TripAdvisor and we had a really pleasant time.The waiters were very attentive throughout our stay. They were as good as the delicious dishes, tasty traditional food revisited.Couldn't wish better for a lovey night at Locri. Do not hesitate !Siete voi ad essere stati molto carini e simpatici , noi abbiamo solo fatto il nostro lavoro che con clienti come voi diventa anche più piacevole e divertente . un caro saluto da tutto lo staff

In centro... ristorante con menù sia di pesce che di terra e anche pizzeria.Un locale non molto romantico ma carino, adatto più per gruppi di amici e famiglie. Molto luminoso, 2 sale, 1 sala principale appena si entra più grande l'altra più piccola.Gradito il prosecco e un entree di benvenuto gentilmente offerto come l'amaro eil caffè. Tutte le portate buone e adeguate anche nel quantitativo.Antipasti: "Freddo e caldo di mare", "Gamberi rossi allacatalana" ;I secondi: "Bauletto di pesce spada", "Zuppetta di pesce dello Ionio in tegamino" ;Carta dei vini adeguata. Personale gentile.Prezzo adeguato e sconto thefork del 20% regolarmente applicato.Peccato che non ci sia distinzione di sala per il ristorante con la pizzeria e che si usi il tovagliolo di carta...

We have have visited here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The reinvented dishes of the region's "cucina tipica" are superb. Fresh, local seafood prepared in a variety of ways - raw, steamed, baked, etc. - is always excellent. The traditional, refined, and upscale surroundings added to our experience. The owner and wait staff are warm, welcoming, and always professional. Whenever we visit the Ionian coast of Calabria, a visit to Gambero Rosso is an absolute must!

Having enjoyed dining in a variety of restaurants in Calabria, one has to admit that most of them are what can be described as somewhat rustic, however they all produce wonderful Calabrese dishes, La Vecchia Botte does not fall into this category.This small little restaurant which is tucked away from the main area of Siderno takes the food of the region to new heights. A group of eight us had lunch there, we were offered both fish and meat based anti-pasti, as is typical of the region these consisted of 10 different offerings but served in sophisticated way that would not be out of place in high end dining establishments in the UK. The owner obviously had an understanding of the ability of visitors from the UK to eat the normal 4 course and suggested that we leave out the Pasta course and go straight to the main one, a wise decision. For the main course we were offered a grilled fish or one of the specialities of the region of steak tagliatelle covered with rocket and parmesan cheese. This was followed by a chocolate cake or bergamot and pistachio gelati, finally we were given the local liquorice liquor. Obviously the bill reflected the quality of the produce and would be considered to be expensive in Calabria, but compared to the costs of dining in the UK it is a quality food at a bargain money, which should not missed.

When you step in the Trattoria del Gallo d'oro you are back in the fifties, the trattoria has the original furniture and atmosphere of those times. The pasta is handmade on the premises fresh every day, the dishes are told to the guests,no menu, Francesco the grandfather is the real soul of the place! Don't miss this, book in advance and enjoy!

Went to this restaraunt with my cousins and Aunt and Uncle who live in Siderno.My cousins Fiance set it up.Amazing, fresh seafood.Gorgeous scallops in thir shells, fresh tuna carpaccio, fresh Sword fish. BEAUTIFUL OLD RESTAURANT. APPEARS TO BE OLD BARN OR STABLE. GOID ENTERTAINMENT WITH ACCORDIAN. WAS JUST A MAGICAL NITE WITH FAMILY FROM STATES AND FROM SIDERNO, DON'T MISS IT!!!!!
