Excellent clean family restaurant offering home style cooking and good value in the carta de Diaz menu. Service was prompt and friendly with an explanation of the various dishes. It was a welcome relief from two previous weeks of somewhat bland daytime offerings on the Camino. I would recommend this place

My wife and I went to this restaurant to have dinner when we walked the Camino in the end of August 2015. It was a terrible moment of meeting unfriendly staff. We were served by an older man and a young woman. First we did the mistake to pour water into the wineglasses, and the older man came with two other glasses and pointed with his finger on the bottle of wine and then he pointed to the empty glasses so we should understand clearly. We got stonehard bread to eat. The Menu itself was handwritten on a paper for taking orders and since my wife, who can speak spanish, couldn´t read some of the words and asked the young woman to explain, she replied in a rude irritated manner " I thought you understood spanish, perhaps I should have brought the english menu", she said in spanish. We don´t know how this english menu would have looked liked handwritten. The food was misarable, the russian salad consisted mostly of mayonnaise and looked like a loaf. My wife ordered a vegetable soup which more seemed like a potaoe stew. The main course for my wife was salmon which was apparently drowned in garlic. My main course was some kind of meat, not good at all.After this experince we didn´t want to taste their dessert. We had to pay the full price anyway. It was like being in a Falwty Towers movie, only in this case it was two Basil´s serving you. Don´t visit this restaurang to eat if you are a foreigner. We have never on our four times to this area met such a rude staff and such bad manners in any restaurant.

In the heart of the Plaza Mayor, this bar was open and served food at a time when many others were closed. We had some tasty bites and a refreshing drink when we desperately needed it. Typical Spanish bar, with food service. Nothing stand out. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lively in preparation for the futbol tournament.First of all thanks for your comment. Yes, our bar is open all day. We try to adapt to our customers, especially the pilgrims :)

Sent here by our hotel as it didn't have its own restaurant. Simple, local ingredients. A delicious and large bowl of gazpacho to start followed by sardines for Tina and steak for me. Don't know the prices as it was included in our half board, but the meal included a bottle of crisp Verde. Very nice.

Since there were good reviews about this place, we went there to hava a night snack. To our surprise, he had nothing to serve us but two boiled eggs.

Called in here after finding that everywhere else was closed. Ordered 2 burgers and a bottle of wine. Burgers were outstanding. Followed up with a dessert of Torrija, which was bit like an Englishman bread-and-butter pudding, but with lemon ice-cream and a honey glaze. Also excellent.Highly recommended.

Environment is superb, and ald abbey converted in hotel and restaurant, and the restaurant itself dìsplays wooden roof beams. Moreover, staff was very friendly and supportive. Meals, delicious: mellon-mint cold cream, goat cheese salad, cod and tuna. And first class desserts, everything was superb. And a balanced bill. Don't forget going there if you're in this part of Camino de Santiago.

We are in a hotel close by and were recommended the restaurant. But we weren't up for a big, rich meal so we looked around and ordered the shrimp then tomato and avocado salad. We wanted small squid which were gorgeous, on potatoes with garlic. Shrimp beautiful and plain, salad delicious. Everything really enjoyable. House tempranillo very nice and reasonable. Must eat slower tomorrow and therefore more! Saw beautiful fish go by us and Spanish tourists taking photos. Coming back very son if not tomorrow...

These are the type of things that make very suspicious Tripadvisor. It's difficult to believe the average punctuation of this restaurant is so high. We went warned of tricky business by other people but we wanted lamb and we choose the safest. But disappointment was very much further tricky behaviour. Lamb was very much fatter than expected. My portion was half of it the neck of the animal. The waitress dictates the dishes, they do not give a menu, so you cannot read the pieces unless you ask.Finally the prices are very high what make the ratio price quality very low. 4 people only 2 starters, one soda, one bottle of water, 3/8 of wine and 4 portions of lamb. 120 â¬. Without desserts or spirits.Personnel is very correct and kind but this is not enough to delete the feeling of being stolen.

This bar/restaurant was around the corner from our Hostal Albe and we so enjoyed a nightcap at the bar. Our friends joined us for tapas and a very nice elderly waiter moved us from the bar to a table and brought HUGE servings of tapas with a smile. A bargain!
