As part of our 40th Wedding Anniversary my daughter son and son in law arranged a few days away to Marbella. As part of the celebrations we wanted to have a special evening meal. On a walk into the old town we came across The Abrasa BBQ. We stopped to have a drink and sandwich to check it out. There was 5 adults and a 6 month child in a push chair. We were greeted warmly and soon had a table sorted out outside that accommodated the buggy. We ordered our sandwiches and drinks and decided to check out the menu while we waited. Service was quick and the toasted sandwiches were fresh and tasty. Because of the service we received my husband booked a table for later that night. We were advised to take a table inside the restaurant. The restaurant opened at 7pm and we booked a table for 8pm. We arrived a little early but that wasnât a problem. When we were seated by a very competent waitress who did speak some English we asked if we could have some hot water to warm the babyâs bottle. This was not a problem and the hot water arrived very quickly. We were given bread and olives to munch on while we decided what we wanted. Obviously as it is BBQ based we all decided on steaks - on the menu were different weighed steaks which obviously had a different cost. Starters were ordered from soup to small pasties. Everything was delicious. We ordered our steaks and were asked how we would like them cooked. 3 went for medium rare but my son and myself like our steaks very rare. We seldom got this. At this restaurant we actually got exactly what we wanted - absolutely fantastic. Also the chips the meal came with were very tasty. One of the party had vegetables which were also cooked well. We had wine and beer with the meal and although the sweet menu looked lovely no one had room!!! The total bill came to about 250 euros which I thought was very reasonable given it was it for 5 adults. The staff were very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable with regards to the menu and wine. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and should we visit Marbella again would definitely seek out this restaurant again.thank you .. maureens698 .. very many thanks for your opinion about our restaurant, we hope again your visit, we are very pleased that you have enjoyed our gastronomic delights and that you have chosen our restaurant to celebrate your anniversary. Great steak house in the old town in Marbella. Food, wine and service are fantastic and always consistent. If you book off TA you can get great discounts which make this restaurant really cheap! One of my favourites would highly recommend a visit at any time of the year!

We wanted to visit Ojén, a nice white town built over a hill. The restaurant is very well placed, the tables and seats just ok, and the staff is competent and nice. But the food is so so. The salad was weak and scarce; the aubergine au gratin was very expensive and we did not like it very much.Finally, neither the veal strogonoff nor the pork loin with Malaga wine were satisfactory. The strogonoff was far from a real one, and the other recipe was 'escalopines al vino de malaga', but that should translate in thin slices of meat, and that was not the case.Forgetable and not cheapThank you very much for bothering to give your opinion, prices are posted on the internet, there is a letter on the door of the restaurant, and then I gave it to him, I do not think he would surprise you. Regarding the dishes, each opinion is accepted and the tastes are particular, but aubergines that carry a béchamel with pink (9,50 ⬠the Kg), prawns, and cheese, being one of the most elaborate dishes, for 15 ⬠, is certainly not Mc donald, but surely in his country is much more expensive. And with the scallops, nothing to say, it is one of the most requested dishes, but what is said for tastes, ..... And pir last that you find it expensive to eat in a restaurant for ⬠22 each, ... nothing more to say. Next time I stay in Marbella, it's cheaper.

Very high ratings on Trip Advisor are totally deserved.We had an unusual request....birthday lunch for 16. We ordered a birthday cake and flowers as well as the usual stuff.Joy (who communicated with us to plan details by email) was excellent - both responsive and flexible on menu. So that was ahead of actual visit.Visit itself was excellent - the wait staff were friendly and efficient, the chef? (Dutch gentleman) was very friendly also. And the food was very good - particularly the starters ....beef carpaccio and goats cheese salad were both top notch. Finally the atmosphere is nice also with inside and outside spaces (outside under shade).A really good experience overall. Would highly recommend for special events but also weâd recommend visit for a more âstandardâ type lunch or dinner. Food and service Iâm sure would be same high quality.First of all many thanks for choosing Cascada Cocina & Bar to celebrate this very special occasion. Great to hear that you have had such a great time and that you enjoyed the setting as well as the service and the food so much. Reviews like this are very rewarding and motivate us to keep going. We were recommended to try this fairly new restaurant in the hills above Tolox. It cannot be denied it occupies a superb position in the hills with wonderful views but I was sorry the experience did not match up to expectations. I found the service to be quite slow and they were not particularly busy for this Sunday lunch session, and they seemed unable to bring the dishes for all six persons at the same time which we have found to be a frequent failing of restaurants in Spain. I would like to comment on the adoption here of the new trend of having the menu cards on clipboards - very trendy and it works well if the menu is changed frequently but when the clipboard arrives with grubby and well-worn pages it is slightly off-putting. Somewhere in the several pages of menu, we must have missed the line where it lists bread @ 1â¬; we didn't notice it and were surprised to find this charge on the bill. The prices were quite high enough to absorb the cost of a bread roll per person. So for those two reasons alone, I don't think I will be returning to La Lola in Tolox. Sorry, but that's the truth as I found it.

The tapas at this restaurant was good and the staff was service-minded and friendly although it took some time before the tapas arrived and they ran out of some ingredients. It was very cheap with good commodities. Can recommend going but serve yourself with patience.
