Going to "Alvaro" is always a pleasant experience and a guarantee of having a great dinner.Andrea, the owner, and his sister will make you feel welcomed and will always suggest you good dishes to try.It's nicer in summer as they have a "veranda" so you can dine "Al Fresco" (while in winter you can only eat indoors and the restaurant in itself isn't particularly beautiful). We went there last night and I feel I must write a review to tell you how wonderful this place is. Unfortunately is hidden away, in the middle of a residential area in Loreto, so not in a great position if you visit the city centre and the church (but it is just 5 minutes drive, so it's well worth the visit!). We started with ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach with a lemon and thyme sauce, "gnocchi alla papera" (potato dumplings with a tomato based duck sauce) and tagliatelle with wild boar and porcini mushroom sauce. All three dishes - strictly home made - were in good portions and truly delicious. As a main, you cannot go there and not try their meat! I had a fillet steak with Tropea Onions (some of the onions were soft while others had been fried and sat on top of the steak as a crispy topping) and my husband had a steak (I cannot remember the proper meat cut name, sorry...) with rosemary and Colonnata lard on top. We had crisps - their home made proper stuff! - wine and water and the bill came up to â¬77 - not cheap, but well worthed the two-courses dinner! I sincerely recommend you this restaurant as undoubtedly is the best meat restaurant of the area and perhaps, one of the best in Le Marche!

Superb primi piatti.... Gnocchetti with pancetta and pistachio... Really very good. Good value meal And good location. Meat was good but perhaps too big a portion - very tasty. The Sorbetto al Caffè, was the low point of an otherwise enjoyable evening

Glad we booked even for a Tuesday night in Winter. Very popular. Good service, open kitchen/grill. Nice ambiance. Good wine list. Was surprised the tagliata was just average at best. The lamb was very over cooked. The pasta dish with orange zest was excellent.

Il locale è molto grazioso e rustico, davvero pulito con cucina a vista. Abbiamo ordinato due taglieri ma si sono dimenticati di fare portare il secondo, quindi abbiamo assaggiato un solo tagliere: davvero buono, abbondante, per più di due persone, ricco di salumi tipici del luogo, freschi e profumati. I primi sono davvero buoni, abbiamo mangiato la pasta alla cenere (con gorgonzola e olive) e la pasta con il ragù di capriolo, squisite entrambe, anche se un poâ pesanti. Unica nota negativa: servizio lentissimo!

I went with some friends during holidays back in my hometown. Mario, the chef, told us how everything is carefully selected from meat to beers, even to the bread he uses to prepare his burgers, to make sure they stand out from other traditional pubs and restaurants... and they definitely do! Nice atmosphere and excellent quality of food, highly highly recommended! PS: If you've never been to Montelupone before, have a stroll in any of its picturesque small roads you can get into from via degli orti :)

We have been there twice and will definitely come back again. The location is beautiful. The restaurant is situated among the beautiful hills. There are tables inside and outside. The food we tried both times was excellent. Portions are really abundant and prices are reasonable. This was terrible!First we had to wait long just to get the menu, then we had to wait even longer before the waiter took the order. Then we waited, waited and waited. When the meals arrived it was a real disappointment. The lasagne was cold in the midle (re-heated) and it contained small bones! The pasta arabiata tasted as if it come directy from the super market, and the pasta with rague tasted also very strange. Stay away!

I would say the title is eloquent enough. Simply astonishing, probably the best meat we have eaten in a restaurant ever. Not only is the staff friendly and yet discreet, but the servings were so large we couldn't manage to finish a single-course meal! And the expense was quite low too! You may pay the bill, but it will be a priceless experience. You can hold me accountable for it, this is one of the best places in Italy to eat meat. No, I don't work for them, but I wish I did even for free if it meant eating this well every day.
