we dropped in here for lunch with no great expectations, the service was excellent and unlike so many eateries the chicken wings had loads of chicken on them. their soup was excellent with very tastie chips. will be back for a night meal having since heard great reviews of their steaks. both bar and retaurant staff were excellent.

Made arrangements to meet my wifes family for an afternoon get together and lunch.There were 15 seniors in total and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.That day there was a 4 course lunch special for senior citizens priced at just 11 euro.Unbeliveable value and everyone enjoyed the food which can only be described as excellent. Well done Dowlings, we will certainly return regardless of your special lunch menu.

Visited on Friday evening with my husband. First time here had heard it was nice. Nice is a massive understatement. The food was amazing. My husband tells me I am very hard to please when eating out well this restaurant really pleased me. We shared a starter of prawns and both had a main course. I had prawn and chorizo linguine which was amazing and my husband had steak which he loved. The staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. So pleased to find such a lovely restaurant so close to home. we will definitely be back.

As one of our party had food allergies and intolerances, we emailed in advance and communication was friendly with very quick response rate. The menu was sent and a good variety was available for our planned Sunday Lunch with a ready willingness to adapt. An excellent first impression.We were there for Sunday Lunch and had a choice of the lounge or the restaurant and opted for the restaurant so that we could enjoy our conversation. Food was served in a timely manner, without feeling rushed. Options were explained clearly and adjustments were made to accommodate allergies without fuss and very pleasantly. It was quiet and peaceful there until a diner arrived with strident voice!Starters: We enjoyed the bruschetta and the chicken wings.Mains: My friend was full of praise for the linguine which he described as full of flavour and was very impressed by it. He promised to return!I decided to go for the pork for a change, with adjustments, and gave it the seal of approval. We passed on dessert and finished our meal as usual with coffee. We look forward to going back again. This visit ended just in time as a large party was arriving.

Myself, husband and our 1year old daughter had dinner here. I got beef which was quiet tasty but unfortunately my veg were completely under cooked. My husband got the chicken special but he said there was nothing special about it. Absolutely no complaints with baby bowl, there was plenty and baby enjoyed. We both got dessert, I got the brownie which I'd give a thumbs down. My husband got banoffee, it came with no banana or cream. It was exchanged for an apple pie which was good.We thought the price was quiet steep for the quality of the food. Disappointing meal all round.

Came here for dinner and had such a great night!! The ladies who work there are awesome. So incredibly friendly and happy to chat and help make your night great!We had a delicious dinner and a truly awesome night. They also packaged up dinners for our husbands who were getting back late from a work trip. If ever in the area stop in for a pint and a bite to eat. You will be glad you did! A true little gem in the Irish countryside!!Also love the Canadian touch at the bar!

The bar/restaurant was busy and there certainly was a great choice from buffet to the menu. Service was very good and the staff were very friendly.Reasonably priced and whereas the menu wasn't exiting, this was lunchtime and it was certainly functional, ranging from soup & sandwiches to a full roast dinner. It seemed to attract a good mix of business people and locals, an certainly there was something to please anyone.Good food and good service - cant complain

While passing through Clane we decided to stop and try this establishment for food. The menu offered a nice selection of starters and mains to try. The staff were attentive and professional and no request was too much trouble.The surroundings are comfortable, quaint and clean.Our food arrived very well presented and very generous portions. We both had the Beef Main , which was lean, tender and tasted magnificent. In fairness our meal here was a delight from start to finish ! And in all honesty the entire experience was 100 % . I would have no hestitation in reccomending this eatery for lunch or dinner.. We will DEFINATELY be back !!!!FANTASTIC FOOD !!!!
