Dirty. Needs a DEEP clean. Daily cleaners work hard, but overall the place needs a bath. Front desk people are extremely helpful. But it was gross. Galway Kinlay is a 9.5, Dublin Kinlay is a 2.5. Please understand we want to come back, but the place needs a scrubbing and paint. NOT the day cleaners fault.

Good campsite despite very noisy neighbours campers

Reviewed By 559louannem

Lovely campsite, good amenity. Will have giving it 5 stars but unfortunately had a family of campers from the North who started setting up their tents late on Friday evening at around 10pm, and their kids were so loud especially two of the girls who must have been around 9 - 12. We had to ask the parents many time to keep it quiet but to no available. The mother was as loud as her kids, no respect for fellow campers.

Glendalough International Youth Hostel

Poor

Reviewed By Michael O

Myself and my son stayed here as the first night of a two day hiking trip. We got a private toom which was very basic. We were given linen and had to make out own beds which were quiet hard and uncomfortable. We had a en suite bathroom but no soap. We were both woken at 6.15 by the pipes banging as the water started to heat for the day. I would excuse these issues on the basis of it being a hostel but considering how much we were charged I would say its just bad value for money. The following night we stayed at a B&B in glenmalure which was excellent in terms of value for money and comfort. This highlighted how poor the hostels offerings were. Wouldn't stay again.

Lus Mor B&B

Lus Mór is a cheerful mix between Bed & Breakfast and Hostel. It has the open, colourful and young flair of a hostel, but also the calm and private atmosphere of a classic Bed & Breakfast. Lus Mor is located in Sleamaine, which is approximately 1.7km off the Wicklow Way and 4.5km away from Roundwood. After descending from the highest point on the Wicklow Way, at Djouce Mountain, the hostel is the closest accommodation to the trail from Pier Gates. It is the closed halfway point, in terms of places to stay, when walking from Knockree and Glendalough and avoids the lengthy detour into Roundwood village. The house is set in a remote location on large open grounds of just over an acre. There are panoramic views from the house and garden, these take in the Vartry Reservoir, Ballinastoe Woods, White Hill and the Great Sugarloaf in the distance. The House The literal English translation for the name 'Lus Mor' is 'Big Flower', which specifically refers to the Foxgloves around the grounds that are everpresent throughout the Summer. Walking the Wicklow Way

Staying at Lus Mor was like staying with family (in a good way). The staff were warm and friendly, the home-cooked food was amazing! We ere a family of four with two teens and had a large room with an en suite bathroom. The beds were the comfiest we experienced on the whole trip and the entire place was immaculately clean. However, one of the beds, that my teenage son chose, was incredibly squeeky! And that wasn't the only noise disturbance sadly. The venue sets a 'no loud noise after 10 pm' rule, which is wonderful, but I can imagine hard to enforce and sound really really echoes around the building making babies/small children crying quite loud and even the sound of people eating in the large communal area seemed quite loud the following morning. That said, the building is wonderful, the amount of effort the venue goes to to provide service (shampoo, tea, coffee, etc.) is amazing and overall the entire feeling of being there is very calming and relaxing.

Terrible customer service and a trip ruined

Reviewed By BridKina

As a fellow hotelier, it is rare that I would write a bad review for another property, but my experience warrants one. WARNING: Ensure your booking of confirmed before going. I had all 20 beds reserved, transport arranged, dinner, etc. My friend called to charge the card details on file as I wasn’t attending and was told “we cancelled your booking and sold the beds”. Neither of us received an apology or an explanation as to why the manager did this. And when questioned, she was extremely patronizing and unapologetic for not even having the decency to call and double check with us before cancelling our booking. Needless to say, with this short notice, everything had to be cancelled for the group trip as nowhere else had availability
