I ate lunch here at least 7 times during my stay in Lecce. The food is amazing-- delicious and diverse offerings, for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike. I particularly loved all dishes with eggplant--eggplant with pasta, eggplant parmigiana are two noteworthy offerings. The eggplant entree and a contorni (vegetable, for example, chicoria), cost 5 €. And the people who work here are marvelous!

I live in Lecce and have done for over 12 years now, so I know just about every restaurant in town. We are lucky in Lecce, as we have a lot of very good restaurants. However, there are only a few exceptional restaurants. There are even fewer reasonably priced and simple restaurants that are exceptional. Mezzo Quinto is about the only one. Small, simple, and unassuming, Mezzo Qunito boasts not just some of the best food in town, but some of the best food in Salento. Don't let the simple and unassuming facade fool you. They grow their own veg,, local varieties cooked in the Salentine style. All the other ingredients are also of the finest quality. You will have a hard time getting better Leccese food elsewhere. A must if you are in Lecce.

This is a great place for good, fresh baguette sandwiches on the go. A very wide variety of hams, salamis and cheeses with spreads. You can design your own or have the house recommendations. Fresh juices, beers available but limited outside seating. In a very central location. Not a disappointment!

This is a small sandwich shop, a little like Mother Nature’s sandwiches, of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. They make the sandwiches to order. I had a meatball sandwich, which I rate as Very Good, but pricey. It was nice and juicy and street-food delicious. Service is fast and friendly.

La Succursale

Reviewed By b_robin5

I live in Lecce and have done for a number of years. I know the restaurants pretty well, though I tend to frequent only my favourites. Probably for this reason I have ever before tried La Succursale. One problem with restaurants in Lecce is that, over the past 10 years, they have gone the way of so many restaurants in Italian tourist towns -- downhill. The quality of food in Lecce these days is good, but nowhere as good as 10 years ago. It is increasingly hard to find a really good restaurant that serves quality local dishes and locally sourced ingredients. Imagine my delight after meeting friends at La Succursale. The food is all locally sourced, some of it wild, and the dishes are truly traditional. The quality is very high, though the atmosphere is decidedly relaxed (something I usually require). If you are looking for a really local experience, with authentic local food, leave the historic centre, walk only 5 minutes past Porta Napoli and il Obelisco, to La Succursale. You will not be disappointed. You might want to come early, though, as it gets very crowded after 9:00.
