Superb dining experience. We lodged in the same block so we would eat wonderful breakfast's there. Then we discovered that they served dinners also and Vernazza has restaurants that live off their views. This doesn't have a view but has superb menus and moreover focus on preparing good cuisine. My best dining experiences in my 3 weeks in Italy was with the Il Pirate. They should probably change the name to match the quality of the dining experience. Perhaps, Il Excellente!

The place was almost full with local people, which was immediately promising. Service was great, and the food was on our tables 10-15 minutes after order. The most importantly: the food was really tasty and it was obvious that it was homemade. Excellent!

Great choice of piadinas.. cooked fresh to order.. fast, friendly service, thank you :) Bummer about all the stairs you need to climb to get there, but if you are heading up to see the view from the castle anyway, you MUST stop there for a piadina :)

Well, we could not agree on which pizza to get so we decided we would each order the one we liked and have the left-overs the next day. That did not happen. The pizzas were so yummy that we each ate the entire pizza! That was a first for me. Both pizzas very fresh and the cheese was great. Crust was cooked perfectly. Their beer was really cold and refreshing! We watched their nutella calzoni go past to another table but unfortunately we had no room left.

My partner and I ate at Luisa's the first night of our vacation...and ended up eating there every single night after that! Each meal, a local specialty, was made from the freshest ingredients (from the garden or from the sea) available that day. It was all tasty in the very finest way. Luisa and her team are a true delight!

I had dinner here with my husband, mum and her husband, based on previous reviews. The food was amazing, really tasty and home cooked. The staff was friendly and happy to give suggestions, the decor could do with a bit of updating! Questa recensione non appartiene al mio ristorante ma alla loggia di S. Geminiano l ho potuto constatare dalla fotografia abbinata ed ho segnalato la cosa a TripAdvisor da parecchio tempo.

Ristorante Puin

A nice place, where fish is really fresh, very relaxing close to the mountains but not so far from the seaside. Owners are young: they work in the kitchen but at the same time they take care of your needs.

We ended up here one Sunday night as we were staying locally. The staff were very friendly and the standard of food was excellent. Antipasto plates - local produce and a couple of new things I’d never tried before. For pasta we had the Ravioli in ragu - it was outstanding, fresh pasta, nicely filled served with delicious tomato bolognaise style sauce. We then moved in the seafood - nice produce served simply and without pretence. Finished off with a couple of lovely deserts. The whole lot was of course washed down with excellent local red wine. We left feeling as though we had been welcomed by the staff and received excellent value for money. You won’t be disappointed!

MiVa Ristorante

This restaurant is located a few blocks from Via del Prione, the touristy pedestrian street in La Spezia. Probably as a result, the prices are more reasonable and the quality was very good. The decor was upscale and nice and the waiters were quite friendly. Though this restaurant might be a little difficult to find, it is worth every effort.
