Lo Spago

Lo Spago was a good authentic Italian Restaurant and since that is my favourite it was no surprise I would be a little more critical of the food, the wine and the desserts. We were greeted by friendly staff, sat immediately and able to order some good Chianti. The pasta choice were plentiful and the wait staff were more than willing to explain whatever you needed them to. We got our meals and were feeling pretty good about our choices when I saw something that made me so jealous. The people at the next table had order pasta in a cheese cream sauce. No big deal right? Wrong, the staff had brought over a side table upon which sat a full round of Parmigiano cheese, and in one hand he held a torch. He was mixing something up (I assume some cream), and scraping cheese off as he melted it from the middle of what can only be called a giant cheese bowl. Yes, I said it, he was mixing the sauce up right in the Parmigiano cheese itself. Then he tosses in the pasta and mixes it around as well. He swirls and mixes and then finally pulls it out and plates it. My mouth is watering just thinking of it, still do not know what it was called but I want to try it. Okay, so for dessert, they did not have my favourite Bachio Negro, but they did have Tartufo which was almost as good and excellent as far as desserts go. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the Italian food, the atmosphere and the desserts.

Beautiful open air patio, excellent service, unusual and traditional dishes that are phenomenal. Parents-in-law said octopus was the best they ever had. My son loved the lasagne. Freshly squeezed juices are always a treat and made from fresh whole fruit, and flan, cotton candy, and chocolate lava cake were hits. Beautifully constructed building with art on the walls. My favorite of the many restaurants we have tried on the biannual visits to this area. Highly recommend.

After shopping yesterday at The Multiplaza,my husband and were really hungry.Wanted a nice sit down, not food court.Decided to try Tintos y Blancos again, and were very happy we did.I just had tapas, calamari and spicy potatoes. Both were good, not excellent. My husband ordered a seafood casserole, loaded with shrimp, mussels, clams and mushrooms,in a tomato based broth. It was so good.We had Chilean wine by the glass, very good prices on the wine.ALso like that they put a little card on the wine glass,so you can remember what it was when you go shopping for wine.(in my case that helps, everytime I order a different wine,I forget what it was when I go to the store to buy it)Service was o.k.,it was pretty busy last night. Will go back, and try some more tapas

Extremely comfortable and attractive interior rooms and also a pleasant open patio to enjoy the breeze and shade. The menu is extensive, well planned, and executed by experts. My Italian selections were just as good or maybe even better than even the Sapore downtown, plus delicious homemade rolls. I shall be returning whenever I have the opportunity or reason to visit San Jose, definitely worth a trip to the La Riviera. Plenty of easy, safe parking here too on the premises of the contiguous hotel.

Quattro Restaurant

I came again to this restaurant and the service and food again were great.Staff were again friendly and helpful.Today I ordered a Ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach with cheese sauce. It was delicious, so tasteful, the sauce was creamy, the pasta was cooked correctly. The waiter grinded fresh parmesan over the pasta, what makes the service more special and the pasta even more tasteful. For dessert I ordered a 'volcan de chocolate', and today it was perfectly cook (as the other time I ordered it came almost caked), when you open it, you see the 'lava' (melting chocolate).I'd rather pay C8000 ($15) to eat real, tasteful food than the same amount for a burger (that I had another day in another place) and it was really average.Thank you so much. Hope you always keep this great service, success!

Cristian was our waiter and provide us with warm and pleasant set. The food was wonderful. The only request I have is to NOT microwave the bread as they did and to serve real butter in lieu of the artificial butter made with rapeseed oil. Dear Thomas,We´re glad that you enjoyed the food and the service of Pimento. Thanks for sharing your comments, your opinion it´s very important for us. Forward to welcome you soon.Best regards,Ricardo Menendez,General Manager.
