It is located about 75 kilometres (47 mi) south-east of Rome close to the Rome-Naples A1 Motorway. The city is the main city of the Valle Latina ("Latin Valley"), an Italian geographical and historical region that extends from south of Rome to Cassino.

Our good friend brought us here because weâre American and this was the most American restaurant besides McDonalds, and the food was incredible, they really tried hard to speak English which was very helpful and couldnât be more happy with our service. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!!!

It's not often that you visit a restaurant with a large group and come away feeling that the service has been really personal and the food delicious. The owner, Paulo, greeted us all like long lost friends and then proceeded to serve up dish after dish of great antipasti - various hams and other meats, a kind of Italian bubble and squeak, plates of roasted peppers and salads and spelt with ham. The piece de la resistance though was the four desserts - tiramisu, crème caramel, et al - that were irresistibly yummy. The restaurant itself is quite tucked away on the via Duomo, with a cool interior and converted from an old stable. Alatri itself is worth a visit to walk along a small part of the Appian Way.

Our lunch at Locanda La Sementa was surely one of the best and most memorable meals we enjoyed in Italy! Not only were we served an amazing array of local delicacies, but the chef also managed to create a special senza glutine (gluten-free) plate for me that was both generous and delicious. Our wines were perfectly paired with our food, and the tasty dishes were distinct and varied. From the dining room, we could see out into the beautiful countryside and we were shown just where our food had come from. What an absolute delight!

Overall the food is good but nothing to special. On the menu is indicated that they have a selection of meat but if you order the steak you don't get to choose which type you want. We were in 8 and both starters and main dishes didn't arrive at the same time for all of us. This shows a not so well organised kitchen. Moreover, the service was not the best, the waitress looked rather annoyed, making feel the customers not welcome.

Having enjoyed pranzo in May 2014, this was the first "osteria" that was on my list to return to. The chef is passionate and committed to ensuring that every dish is perfect and robust with flavour.From anitpasto to pasta to meat...every mouthful is worth savouring.We enjoyed it so much that after an amazing pranzo we returned 2 days later for cena!This osteria is frequented by the locals, and is filled to capacity, especially for dinner. Just to be safe, call ahead for reservations...You will not be disappointed!

Our group of 5 thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing lunch here last October on our way back to Rome from Sorrento. The service was terrific thanks to the kindness and hard work of our server Stefan. He helped us navigate the extensive, fabulous menu, wine choices, etc. We all loved the antipasto and highly recommend starting with it! We all selected pasta dishes, which were all crazy good. As a Celiac, I rarely enjoy the Gluten free pasta at a restaurant, fearing cross-contamination, but here the Gluten free pasta is cooked in a separate pot, using fresh water. As a burger enthusiast and having had burgers all over the world I was a bit disappointed.The choices are extensive. But that also means maintaining quality can be tricky.The meat did NOT feel fresh, the pulled pork was okay. The fries were good.They are a mix between fast food and restaurant.Buonasera e grazie per la sua visita. Mi dispiace che lei non sia rimasto pienamente soddisfatto del nostro panino. I gusti sono gusti e non si discutono ma di certo posso affermare che trattiamo soltanto ed esclusivamente carne fresca. Invito lei e qualsiasi altro eventuale cliente scettico a chiederci prima della cottura di visionare il tipo di carne che serviamo al fine di poter dare prova certa della freschezza del nostro prodotto.
