Davvero un ottimo servizio quello offerto al Dongya. Un poâ lenti nel servizio è peccato che alcuni camerieri non parlino bene italiano, quindi i piatti sono un poâ confusionari. Comunque ottimo sapore è bella location elegante

This place is smart for a Chinese restaurant, with much attention paid to decor, not least a large waterwheel with goldfish pond, and tables and chairs whose robust quality do much to justify the name "Wu family garden". But the most spectacular aspect of the decor is the tap in the toilet, which resembles a water stop as used to supply water to steam locomotives. Spectacular! The same adjective applies to the food. We tried prawn ravioli, crab with rice gnocchi, aubergines in a terracotta pot, tofu, mixed stirfried vegetables and hot (spicy) Sichuan fish. All cooked to the point of tenderness, not beyond, appropriately seasoned, with generous enough portions, and the stirfried vegetables in an exquisite garlic sauce. The chef is clearly skilled and experienced. Unusually for a Chinese restaurant, there is a wide choice of wine by the bottle, with prices reasonable. You'll pay twice as much here as in the other Chinese restaurants in the town, but on the other hand you get more choice and better wine. The one drawback is the service - not the staff themselves, who are pleasant enough, and attentive - the problem is more their cultural over-compensation. By assuming that we wanted to eat an antipasto, a primo and a secondo, Italian style, they ended up rationing the arrival of our dishes so that one dish arrived at a time, and by the time everything had arrived, almost three hours had elapsed. But we would have preferred to do what the Chinese do, have all the dishes on the table at the same time and eat a little bit of each at a time. Only this prevents me from awarding this place 5 points. If the staff could actually negotiate with customers to ask them whether they want to eat their dishes consecutively, or contemporaneously, then there would be no reason not to give 5 points.

Although the decor of this Chinese eatery has seen better days, there are no complaints about the food. One of the few places in Forlì where you can sip hot nourishing soup on winter days, China Town is comforting also because of the friendly proprietor/manageress (not sure which), who chats with the large number of regular customers and keeps the Tsingtao and (complimentary) aperitifs and digestives flowing, even as you are paying and about to leave! In addition to vegetable soup, I had some very nice tofu with seaweed, bamboo, mushrooms and vegetables (though only "vegetables" appears next to this item on the menu), with some properly cooked plain boiled rice. Other diners, meanwhile, were tucking into prawns which arrived from the kitchen still sizzling. Overall, a very good deal and a pleasant and warming place to spend an hour or two.
