In famiglia per uno spaghetto a pranzo.locale semplice ma pulito .piatti della tradizione cucinati come a casa . Il titolare ci costringe quasi a scegliere tutti piatti uguali. Il prezzo brutta sorpresa.

First of all : if you are on holidays along the busy Gargano seashore ( Puglia - Italy ) , take your time to pay a visit to the Varano lake, an enchanting place. They call it lake but it is a lagoon. Actually we were driving " at random " and we turned to a narrow road with a sign " to the lake " ... and by chance we reached the small dock with just two buildings ... one of them : La Fontana restaurant. Such a silence, total peacefulness and oasis of relax. Wow ... such an unexpected surprise to find such a place ... ! We went for lunch and we were so proud of our choice. If you want a suggestion forget about the pizza ... you can have good pizza anywhere in Italy ! The lake/lagoon it's a paradise for mussels so go for a "pepata di cozze" ( mussels with pepper ) instead. Anyway mussels are so genuine that you cannot miss to try them raw with lemon as well. Simply amazing. Then to follow try the grilled eel : a small kind of eel so tasty and so tender. But then you can indulge the senses with a fish fry of the day ... all that accompanied by a perfect white wine from Fiano and Bombino grapes. But if you have more room in your stomach ask for the home-made lampascioni ( local small onions in olive oil ) and different kind of cheese. An apotheosis of your taste buds indeed. After the meal go to relax on the tables outside the restaurant with lake view. Sorry I forgot to tell you that prices are "extremely" reasonable !

It's a relatively intimate place, not necessarily by location (which is also great, overlooking the lake Varano), but by the implication of the staff in what they do and by their care to see everything done right and the customer satisfied. This attitude is actually the main reason I went for the 4star rating, rather than the 3star rating. In terms of what you get: generous antipasti with products grown on site (yet too much bread based stuff), primi, secondi, water and wine, all for 25 euros/person. The menu varies according to what fresh products are available, but we had seafood pasta (which didn't throw us away) and grilled carne (which was good, but also did not throw us away). The digestivo is extra. All in all we had a great time. It's not a bad choice, but don't expect wonders.

Il pranzo in questo agriturismo è stato davvero eccellente. Abbiamo preso degli antipasti della casa che erano super abbondanti e comprendevano tantissime portate tipiche. Anche i primi ed i secondi non sono da meno, si può scegliere tra i pasti tradizionali e quelli tipici della loro cucina. I prezzi sono medio bassi, considerando la qualità e la quantità delle portate. Lo spazio esterno è immenso, ci sono animali, parco giochi, piscina, distese verdi infinite. E' il posto ideale per mangiare bene, spendere poco e rilassarsi nel cuore della natura.

A pranzo con amici lo chef anfitrione Pasquale ci ha fatto sentire subito a proprio agio per poi deliziarci con le sue proposte culinarie di una semplicità unica â¦...il Gargano che ti esplode nel piatto. Cucina essenziale con prodotti del territorio senza stravolgerne la materia prima già di per sé eccelsa. Non posso esprimermi sul costo perché ha pagato Gianni. Per chi vuole gustare la vera cucina del Gargano siete nel posto giusto. Un grazie alla Signora Antonella per averci supportato e sopportato.

Last week we were in this restaurant and we really enjoyed this place! They cook seafood and do it really cool! We liked, that we can sit in and outside. It has beautiful area around. I would also like to note an excellent service in restaurant. I will advise this place to my friends.
