The only inconvenient thing about this otherwise fine restaurant is the narrow unpaved connector road to the property, which can be quite tricky should oncoming traffic come your way.
The food is excellent - especially the dishes with sirloin strips and the semiffredo desserts. Ask for the nice Cuban waiter

Your treated with fragalino, wine or beer, delicous appeatizers, Pasta and Prime rib not to metion the dessert. I'm going back Italy in July 2012 and i will be going back to this resturant for sure.

Lovely cosy restaurant in a gorgeous village. Incredible value....Meats and cheese to start followed by hot stuffed olives and deep fried 'custard' sounds odd but lovely. Then 2 choices of pasta followed by smoked beef and steak tartare with rocket. Main course was beef fillet strips followed by biscotti and local desert wine. All is washed down with water and wine...as much as you like. How much is this feast??? Euro 25 per person! Incredible. Book before and make sure you are hungry!

Ponti Oscuri - La Hostaria

"Ponti Oscuri - la Hostaria" is a small restaurant situated in the ancient town of Sant'Elpidio a Mare (Marche Region), in a typical alley of the medieval village. The new management proposes the dishes that have made it famous in the past: a typical local and seasonal cuisine, of mainly meat dishes, with excellent local products from small producers of Fermo and Macerata towns. The wine list is a selection of the best wines from the Marche area, accompanied by a selection of artisanal beers made in our territory. A place where roots, traditions and quality still matter! "

We were between Porto San Giorgio and Porto Sant'Elpidio for outlet shopping, and decided to Sant'Elpidio a Mare for a stroll and possibly early dinner. The only place which drew our eye was Ponti Oscuri as they had a menu board outside as well as a couple of tables. We entered and found the dining room in pastel colours was very inviting and the reception welcoming. After being seated in the corner, we looked at the menu again, and were delighted to see salad choices, which was just what we wanted. We ordered the grilled chicken salad, olive ascolane, fritto misto, half litre of Passerina from Montelparo and mineral water. The food was very good and the ambience was relaxing. The bill for 2 came to 29.50 Euro.
As we forgot some sunglasses there, we returned for lunch the next day, having some fresh pasta dishes and a delicious dessert, finishing with coffee. The bill was 34 Euro. Highly recommend this good value osteria, with professional staff and spotless environment.

Restaurent in a lovely setting with a really good menu. Good choice of starters followed by wide range of pasta backed up by great main courses and gorgeous Deserts.
Thinly sliced beef with goats cheese starter was perfect followed by rustic lamb chops which had a lovely flavour. Desert of chestnut ice cream exquisite, however my wife had chocolate mousse with white truffle also excellent.
Giampiero Giammarini is a great chef serving stunning local cuisine which is great quality and fairly priced. If in the area don't miss it!

We were made to feel very welcome by this family run restaurant. We were a party of six and it was suggested that we chose different things from the menu to share. Each dish was freshly home made by 'mamma' and exceeded all our expectations, we could try every dish to share and it was all in season and freshly made to order. Wines had been suggested that were from the local region and were superb and reasonably priced, as was the excellent meal. We would recommend this to any traveller passing by or if you are staying in the environs of Monte San Martino.

I visited this agriturismo which is a bit hidden off the road coming down from Ripatransone towards Cupra (watch for the sign on your left as you descend-not illuminated). We were warmly welcomed by the brother that takes care of the dining area and brings his brother's traditional agriturismo/Marche fare to the table. Abundant antipasti, 2 very nice primi and a secondo were all very good and surprisingly the family wine is really excellent (ask for the Petit Verdot if there is any left, otherwise the Cabernet is quite good). Well worth the trip and the price can't be beat- 22 euros all inclusive when I went. Only open on weekends as the family all work keeping up the vines, olive trees, vegetable garden etc. which must keep them very busy during the week.

L'Antico Gusto

We arrived at Antica Gusto on an extremely busy Sunday lunch. The restaurant was full of locals having fun so we were very pleased we had made a reservation.
This wonderful restaurant on a farm near Penna San Giovanni, served us good local food and plenty of it!
Despite being so busy, the service was excellent. The staff were so attentive, as our jugs of wine or water were 2/3rds empty, they were immediately refilled.
The set menu was great value at €22 -€25 per head. You certainly won't go hungry.
Locally produced traditional food (much of the cheeses and meats produced right there on the farm) were wonderful and the selection of anti pasti will certainly impress. From salamis and fresh cheese platter served with a delicious berry jam, to bean soup, pickled vegetables and so much more.
Followed by two pasta courses, of which we enjoyed lemon and ricotta ravioli and a spaghetti with ragu. If you have room, try the delicious, juicy grilled meat platter, served with salad. And we managed to squeeze in a wonderful piece of tiramisu, coffee and homemade liqueurs.
Our vegetarian friends were well catered for, despite being a farm, and pasta with a tomato sauce and fresh, light tortillas were specially made for them.
This is a great way to spend a lazy lunchtime, which took a good few hours with excellent food, pleasant surroundings and friendly staff.
Go and enjoy Antica Gusto - we are sure you won't be disappointed!

We recently arranged a surprise birthday lunch at La Torre for my husband. We arrived a little early and the staff helped to spring the surprise by asking us to have a drink at the bar while we waited for friends to arrive. There were 10 of us, including 4 vegetarians. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the table had been set with fresh flowers. We ordered the mixed hot and cold antipasta and it just kept on coming!! Really good imaginative, tasty food, and attentive friendly service. Mains were equally good and we finished off with birthday cake and coffee. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again next time we are in the area.
