The province of Carbonia-Iglesias (Italian: provincia di Carbonia-Iglesias, Sardinian: provìntzia de Carbònia-Igrèsias) was a province in the autonomous region of Sardinia, Italy. It included the historical area of Sulcis-Iglesiente and it was the smallest province of Sardinia. It is bordered by the provinces of Cagliari and Medio Campidano. All three provinces (Carbonia-Iglesias, Cagliari, and Medio Campidano) have been suppressed by the regional decree in 2016. [1]

Over last year I have been several time in this place, on average happy enough to come back, despite high prices. Last time the room was too warm and humid (I was not the only guest swetting and complaining, in vain), the "frittura" absolutely mediocre (calamari hard to chew, probably frozen - although according to the menu they should have been fresh), service not in line with the standard of a place in this price category (two different waiters used the language rather than a polite verbal form, to ask their guest to hand over the dish, which was impossible given the concetration of tables in the room).
There other better and mor value-for-money places in Carloforte and - as anticipated to the maitre - I will surely not come back.
Good luck if you nonetheless decide to visit this place in summer!

I don't need to add anything else... oh, may be that after paying ridiculous little money for such good food they packed all the left overs for us and we had another lunch of that the day after....
Oh I have to write some more.... just go and find out for yourself ! Fabulous starters, typical Sardinia pasta, maialino, beautiful red wine.....

The location is its strength and biggest asset, just in front of the Cattedrale di Santa Chiara, the view couldn't be better in Iglesias, especially during sunset.
The restaurant has a sort of uptight look and feel and it is reflected on the waiters as well (who walks a bit stiff-like).
The menu has a aura of tourist trap over, but the food is actually very tasty and high quality ingredients. House wine was a let down though, no after taste and too alcoholic in mouth, feels it needs mature for few month more.
Service is okey, nothing to be complained about. Except we paid cover charge of €2/pp and received...nothing at all, no bread, no olives nothing.

Achille brings a breath of fresh air and innovative flair to Sardinian cuisine. Use of best produce and freshest ingredients. Everything served with an attention to presentation. Informal, yet attentive, service by young waiters with a ready smile. A plus for carafes of cold water with ice served liberally at no extra charge. The locale is not at the same level of the cuisine. The restaurant looks like an airplane hangar and the ceiling fans were totally insufficient to cool the room on a hot summer evening. An investment in air conditioning is essential.

Very swish interior. Vast choice of pizzas most with the option of saffron dough. Five different beers brewed on site. The service was swift and the pizzas excellent - the beers were pretty good, too! Well deserves its TA rating. Recommended

The Locanda is situated right in the tiny centre of the old Tratalias town, In a traditional old townhouse with a typical genuine and tasteful decor.
If the setting it's lovely and yet understated, the food here is something absolutely special. They have a small menu with typical specialities with tasteful sophisticated twists, prepared to perfection and presented impeccably.
Personally the sea urchin and asparagus spaghetti, the octopus salad, the cuttlefish with either polenta and artichokes were absolutely memorable.
Great selection of wines and attentive service complete the delightful experience.

We simply had a fabolous dinner!
The food is great, we had various different fish dishes and all of them exceptionally fresh and genuine. Truly Italian simple, honest and best quality. At a very low price for anyone used to travel internationally (half bottle of white wine at 7eur, fish starters at average 8eur!).
They also make fresh fruit smoothies - a perfect for kids!

Sono passato da poco al Dinokebab per un panino completo.
Ho avuto fortuna e non vi nascondo che sono stati velocissimi.
I migliori panini che abbia MAI mangiato...Non ho trovato di meglio in nessun luogo e non lo dico perchè è un locale della mia città.
