Honest straightforward food lovingly prepared and served. Family run restaurant; seafood fresh every week day from the van coming from the Ligurian coast. Real comfort food; excellent value and great for families; pizzas excellent.

as there are not too many eating places in the little town of Calamandrana, we ended up in this modest trattoria along the main road crossing the town.you sit outside at simple tables, on simple chairs, watching the few cars and trucks roll by, while enjoying very good pasta, good wine, and all of that at rather cheap prices

Not surprisingly this is probably the only non-Italian review up here as this place is certainly not your typical tourist dinner venue. Located in a very small and quiet village but with the most beautiful approaching drive. The interior was nothing to write home about and neither the staff or menu had a word of English - brilliant! When we arrived there were 2 tables occupied but within 15 minutes the indoor and outdoor areas had filled with locals of every age. The small kitchen was literally firing out pizzas. We started with ravioli which was very good and gnocchi with cheese sauce which was AMAZING. Pillows of deliciousness!!! The pizzas were top class. For a cheap, authentic Italian feed look no further!

This is an excellent restaurant with great food and excellent service. Unfortunately the night we went they were also catering a wedding reception and I think that the staff were a little stretched. However, the food was excellent.

Old castle - very nicely located on top of a hill with great view. Try the terrace bar before heading for dinner. Service is very attentive - food selection very good (like everywhere probably). Food is prepared with a lot of attention to details. The architecture of the restaurant is stunning, a great mix of an old castle with very stylish class and very modern design. We liked it very much and can defintiely recommend. Prices are moderate given where you are and what you get.

This restaurant tucked away in a little village near Alba is a real find. The location is stunning. The staff could not be more helpful and charming. The food is amazing. Really good . Also a great wine list with a complete range of wines to choose from. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely be back

Visiting my relatives, my cousin brought us here for dinner & we were not disappointed! Beautiful atmosphere, the decor was really different & nice. Food delicious. Good sizes, very tasty. Great for seafood and pizza. Waiters/owners took their time to talk to us & give us information. Really lovely experience.
