We went to the Bombay in Catral for my wife's birthday, from sitting down to leaving everything was perfect. The sevice is excellent, as is the food. We also visited in June for my sister - in- laws birthday, again everything was brilliant, the poppadoms are gorgeous with the chutney selection. We are heading back to the Bombay on Monday 24th for our friends anniversary, looking forward to more great food. We have eaten Indian food in a lot of different countries, but this is by far the best. Well done Bombay.

We tried Kumars last year after hearing nothing but great reviews - we were sceptical as we have never found an Indian restaurant that comes close to the one in our town in the UK. Other half had the chicken tikka masala and quite frankly it resembled AND tasted like a few bits of chicken with a can of Heinz tomatoe sauce poured over it - so disappointing given the reviews - can’t remember what I had so it obviously wasn’t very memorable - the service wasn’t great either so we paid and left.Fast forward to this year and people were still telling us it was good and to give it another go - we relented, but wished we hadn’t! In fairness we were served by a very pleasant local lady (Spanish) and enjoyed our starters. We both ordered chicken tikka main and I asked if they had a yoghurt and mint sauce to accompany it (tastes similar to the nuclear green sauce they serve with the poppadoms ) but they didn’t - I also asked if they did a mushroom Bhaji but she said they had never heard of it !! I have never eaten in an Indian restaurant that doesn’t serve a mushroom bhaji ! So, we moved forward and I asked if I could have more of the nuclear green sauce. The meal was ‘ok’ I wouldn’t have said the chicken had been grilled in a tandoori oven as described as there were no ‘charred’ marks to support this.So up to this point, it had actually been ok, despite the omission of the sauce and the bhaji. The lady who I assume is ‘front of house’ from other reviews, cleaned our plates and, as you do, I said it had been very pleasant, thank you - no response. Nothing. Thinking she may not have heard me, I commented on the atrocious weather - again, nothing - no comment, no acknowledgment that I had spoken. This disgraceful attitude spoilt our entire evening and I would not return to this restaurant if it was the only place to eat in southern Spain
