Paper straws !! Yeah :) #protectouroceans #noplasticNice veggie choices, the falafel were a bit too dry and compact for my taste but this was well compensated with all the veggies in the pita. Hummus instead of yogurt minty sauce though. And my God, far too much salt with the fries. We came twice and the salt used is really an issue. Amazing service and honest prices.

We were staying at Alajuela Backpackers Hostel and looked all around the square for a restaurant; afraid the more interesting ones have been driven out by McDonald's, etc. We kept gong and found this little place which looked as though it might be a chain. We weren't expecting much and were very pleasantly surprised by the very fresh fish and salad. The few potatoes included with our order seemed old as though they had been sitting out, but the extra order we ordered was fresh, piping hot and delicious. Wish we'd been in the area long enough to go there again. No frills, but the server perfectly answered our questions in spite of our two different languages. Oh, and the prices were good also.We were happy to meet you.......thank you for your good vibes...hope to see you again....

Driving up Poas Volcano through quaint towns dotted with colorful flowering trees and Bougainvilleas is a treat before arriving at Chubascos, an informal restaurant with delicious typical Costa Rican dishes, a great option for out of town visitors and family gatherings. The service is charming and the owner welcomes guests with warmth and cordiality.

I stay down the street from here and was looking for a quick bite to eat in order to close my day with. I was greeted by very warm and friendly staff and after conversing for a little bit I was pleasantly surprised to find the place is family owned and operated. The food is well-made and appropriate to the area and the serving size is reasonable. This is the kind of place where you can look forward to getting the same type of service and same consistency each time you order food here.I would definitely come here again, thank you Ronald!

Our first time here. My family and I came in for lunch. Parking is tight, but an attendant helps you get in and out. Large open kitchen as you enter and many tables and choices. Very friendly welcome and service. Food is very good and the prices are reasonable.

The food was average, at best, but had expensive prices. It was served by inefficient staff members who had trouble getting orders correct, and did not fill drink orders correctly. The tables are packed in together so conversation is difficult.I am very disappointed to hear that you found our service to be below your standards. We strive to ensure that all our customers in the restaurant receive the best service and quality of the food that in its entirety are organic and prepared instantly without any artificial ingredients. We would like to know more. Please email us with a phone number or email address so we can discuss your issues personally. We look forward to getting to serve your in the near future.Pura vida!Eugenia Solano

This restaurant had the best food and service of all the places where we ate in Costa Rica. Family owned and always on site. Cozy, very clean, and surrounded by beautiful vegetation. Friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend the casados, a local dish
Enjoyed a lunch with cousins on a Sunday noon time. Our orders were taken quickly. Had a Papaya shake and it was delicious . We had the 7 gallos plate , make sure to share as it is huge. My favorite were the Cheese tortilla (Tortilla Aliñada) and the plantain empanadas filled with black beans. Worth the trip to the place, rustic looking and open air.
