Though Agrigento is a modern city of about 60,000 on Sicily’s southwest coast, the majority of visitors come to experience the past just outside of town. At the Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi), citizens of the then-major Greek colony of Akragras began building seven Doric style holy monuments in the sixth century BC. The nearby Archaeological Museum helps put everything into context. Agrigento also has some fascinating sights in its old town, like the medieval Norman cathedral.

1, we came here for dinner, we had reservation at 8, can't find the way, called, were told there's a slope going down near the gas station. in fact there's a plate with the name of the restaurant, but not well lighted. 2, there's 4 staffs, we were the only guests, i feel awkward. around 9pm there's 2 more tables seated. it's a chilly summer night, i guess that's why it is so empty and sad. 3, i had pasta tono, portion is rather small, but it was good. my friend had a soup of seafood, it's some seafood is a lot of tomato, which covered the good taste of fish. he didn't like it. 4, it could be a nice place if you choose the right dish, come in a nice summer night, even stay on outdoor table.

Ristorante recentemente ristrutturato, offre alla propria clientela una vista stupenda sulla valle dei templi di agrigento. Presso il nostro ristorante potrete gustare la classica cucina siciliana rivisitata in chiave moderna.
Really no comment. The worst service I ever experienced in Italy. They charge you 3 euro per person, like in Milan! The waiter (the old one) just tries to empty your wallet. He also gives orders in a bad way to the young ones. The guys at the entrance in front of the bar (probably the owners) are the there just to watch their pc, no form of greeting at all. They fit too many cars il the parking lot in triple lines and when itâs time to go away the old waiter asks the guests at the table while they are eating to move their cars so you can get out of your parking lot. Letâs speak about the menu. The food is acceptable but the prices are not justified: you find food of a Sicilian restaurant abroad more then one in Agrigento. I suggest not Italians to avoid it. Price/quality not realistic. No comment we have reading this review! The cover is 3 euros, as in most Sicilian RESTAURANTS with the aggravating circumstance that ours is right in front of the Valley of the Temples. If you wanted to save money you could easily have chosen to go to a restaurant! A dinner in a place like ours, and we are not the ones to say it, but the tourists who come to visit us, if they were in a big city, would cost at least twice as much! But probably you are a little traveling and doesn't know how the world works. Second thing, what do you mean when you say the waiter just tries to empty your wallet? It is a professional who offers them, and it seems to me the least I can do, our culinary offer ... but what places are you used to frequent? When you then says the guys who saw on the computer were not the owners but technicians who were trying to solve a computer problem! they are not part of our staff! Youcomplains about the cars in the third row ... but who puts them to him? We certainly don't !!! and another thing, called last because not less important, our restaurant is more frequented by locals than by tourists, so I wouldn't call it a "So Turistic" restaurant. Probably the problem is you and not our restaurant. I wish you to spend the rest of your holidays in better places than ours, maybe in an Italian restaurant abroad!

I'm so glad we decided to have dinner here! We made reservations via the fork (and for the first time in Italy, they actually received/honored the reservation!). The service was exceptional and the food was so, so flavorful. The caponata was the best we had in the area, and while you may think you know couscous... you truly don't until you've tried theirs! A meal to remember! Thanks for your review

Really tasty food, traditional, fresh pasta, good fish - very Sicilian style! Unfortunately I couldn't eat each thing in menu, but I'm sure it will be really good. The staff is sympathetic and really helpful! The dessert was amazing. Would definitely come back.

La Scala is actually named for the white cliffs outside Agrigento that resemble a staircase. You could call this five year old restaurant a stairway to heaven. Enzo, the personable chef-owner has fashioned an unpretentious bistro with great food and impeccable service. We had spaghetti with sea urchin sauce and swordfish smoked to sublime. I told Enzo it reminded me of the great opera house and the nightly brilliant performances within.
