Find out what Pizza restaurants to try in Agrigento. Though Agrigento is a modern city of about 60,000 on Sicily’s southwest coast, the majority of visitors come to experience the past just outside of town. At the Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi), citizens of the then-major Greek colony of Akragras began building seven Doric style holy monuments in the sixth century BC. The nearby Archaeological Museum helps put everything into context. Agrigento also has some fascinating sights in its old town, like the medieval Norman cathedral.

After reading the great reviews at this restaurant we looked forward to a lovely evening out. Previous descriptions of basic decor, electric oven and plastic plates were spot on. In addition to pizzas we ordered a half litre of the house white wine. We have quaffed many a carafe of the local brew at other restaurants and know it to be very good and very cheap. Strangely enough the proprietor was out of local house wine but was able to open a full bottle of local supermarket wine which he left on the table. It was a bottle of Izzolia and normally less than â¬2 for a 75 cl bottle. After two good and tasty pizzas and some friendly banter with the boss, we were charged â¬12 for the wine. We felt cheated both financially and personally. We had fallen for the oldest trick in the book. Shame really as we would have gone back again for a second time. For us, never again. You have been warned.

La Trattoria Terra&Mare, sita nel cuore del centro storico su di una piazza molto tranquilla, offre ai suoi clienti la possibilità di assaporare la cucina siciliana e più in generale la cucina mediterranea con piatti tipici a base di pesce e carni locali;
Our experience of Terra & Mare is limited to getting takeaway pizza. We stayed at the B&B above, and bought 2 excellent pizzas to have in the B&B. Our pizza chooses were Napoli and Calabrese, and both were tops. The menu also looked extensive, and based on the very friendly service and the excellent pizzas, I recommend trying Terra & Mare if you are in Agrigento.

We had lunch in a very quiet restaurant with 3 tables occupied and the owner couple serving and maybe even cooking our meal. It was almost as good as Capriccio di Mare, but what it doesnât have in pure quality it more than makes up in charm. We had such a lovely lunch there that we came back for dinner on Friday, which was a very different picture.On Friday night it was full and the waiters were racing around trying to keep all the plates spinning. We still had a nice meal and it hadnât lost its charm. For dinner instead we opted for pizzas' which werenât as good as La Grecale down the road, but weâd chose this place anytime.Lovely place, a shame we left the area now

the restaurant is recommended by a local. itâs located at via atenea, a main street of agrigento. itâs pretty modern in decor and looks pretty high end. Price is reasonable though. Pasta and pizza are both delicious. Fried mixed seafood is fresh and crispy. Aubergine ala sicilian is good. Overall a great meal at good price. itâs indeed a good recommendation.

Food was great, but it was a very hot data and we did feel the service was a little slow - maybe an extra staff member would have helped?

I think this pizza place is meant for delivery of the pizza or carry out. We went based on the reviews and it was a terrible atmosphere for starters. That would be ok as long as the pizza was good. It was not. We are from the USA and have high expectations for food in other countries. This pizza was terrible. It had too much cheese, the crust was soggy and the flavor was non-existent. I would skip this place and find somewhere else to eat in Agrigento.
