The place is nice in a very nice hotel. Wonderful surroundings. The service very good and the prices high. The problem is that for a vegetarian there are poor options. They only have a risotto with vegetables and the one that I had that was one pouched egg with pumpkin, mushrooms and some other vegetable but extremely small in size. It was ok in flavor. Nothing especial for that type of restaurant. Dear AAppa,Thank you for taking the time to write a comment. Please do not hesitate to let us know your special requirements at the time of the reservation. The chef will be more than happy to organize different options. We hope to welcoming you gain soon,Kind regards,Diane HERVE

The most beautiful hotel and fantastic restaurant in France and perhaps even the world – This is a fantastic, small, intimate, and excellent hotel and restaurant in the mountains, just outside the scenery Saint Paul de Vence. Au Jardin is locked at the hotel La Vague which means The Wave in English, and the name originates from the building style of the hotel that is a wave seen from the bird’s perspective. This makes the hotel interesting and unique – there aren’t long hallways abut curved ones, and it makes it interesting to walk around. I have stayed at the hotel five times, and I each time get surprised of how fantastic an atmosphere there is at the hotel. The reception is world-class with an extremely high level of service. Cleaning is excellent, and the entire area is kept very neatly. There is a large and gated parking area, a garden, various sitting areas, tennis court, a nice pool area with lots of sunbeds (this is not a place where it is necessary to reserve a sunbed). The pool offers a pool bar. Various sitting and dining areas around the pool. The area around the pool is gated, too. Then there is the restaurant. Local French residents like to sit inside, but the restaurant also offers a large terrace with awning, and that is where I had all my meals. The food the chef serves is truly amazing. Fantastic taste, great combinations, and it just looks so delicious. The service is excellent in the restaurant and the chef is really awesome and Michelin-worthy. He offers an exciting menu and very fantastic wines. The hotel is very family-friendly and it is gated and safe for children. The pool area is gated. Also, there is the art. La Vague is also an arts museum with two exhibition a year. The art is displayed in the garden and inside in the bar, in the reception, and in the restaurant. The art is exciting and new, and you can spend hours on studying the various artworks. The arts is groundbreaking and modern, and it’s fascinating. The hotel also offers some conference facilities and a large conference hall. The town of Saint Paul de Vence is a 20 minutes thru a authentic path away – or you can go by car and park in the garage just outside of the town (go straight in the roundabout). Dear Nicholas,What can we say after such a touching comment ?! We are so grateful : all the team of the hotel La Vague de Saint Paul and its restaurant Au Jardin de la Vague thanks you for that complete and exquisite description. We are all doing our best to offer to our guest the best welcome and above all the best holiday with us.Thanks again and see you soon.

I chose this restaurant because according to TA it was child friendly. Well it wasn't. The food was good and the place was really nice. The only thing I missed was a friendly service. During the 7 months I've lived in Nice, I have never received such unfriendly service anywhere in France. It already started when I arrived to the restaurant 40 minutes earlier and the restaurant is in the middle of nowhere. Worried that it might rain, I asked if I could wait inside, she told me that restaurant was closed but after a consideration did let me in. We had 3 children and it was really strict what they were allowed to do, this I also understand, but you can say things in a friendly manner also? The menu was only in French and the service was in French, which is ok for us, but maybe good to know if you choose this place. Unfortunately one child turned sick and we felt total lack of empathy, it was eyes rolling and annoyance rather than a single time asking a simply çava. This makes me sad, because it really doesn't cost anything to be human and show some empathy. It certainly helps if you work in services business.

We have been regularly visiting this restaurant under Mr. Scordel, who's creativity and hospitality we've loved. After the ownership has changed we were not sure what to expect and waited few months before visiting the place. And... what a great surprise! It has not only kept all the positives from the past, but added a lot of fresh notes and superb ideas. Very creative, imaginary cuisine, superbly presented. Fresh, savory compositions, driven by the season, with some Basque twist but still very French in execution and presentation. If one looks for gastronomic experience, respecting best ingredients and seasons, combining eclectic ideas with very modern culinary attitude - it is a great place to visit. Very friendly and professional service helps to enjoy the pleasures of food. Last but not least - we have been very positively surprised by the price we paid. For the quality offered it was like a gift! All together it is one of the best offers in the area. A must to visit and experience. We will certainly come back. Highly recommended to all food lovers.Dear Madam , dear Sir, it is with a great pleasure that we read your fantastic comment about our establishment , for which we would like sincerely to thank you ! We had a multi-course dinner at this restaurant; the food was very good and plentiful; and the server worked very hard to please the entire restaurant. This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, and it didn't disappoint. We ate salade nisoise, duck breast, and fries. There were a few families there with children.

Five of us came here whilst on a family holiday in Saint-Paul de Vence, having read the recommendations on TripAdvisor, and we weren't disappointed. The setting was beautiful, the ambience was great, the owner was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Starters were great (two of us had the tasting menu, so sampled all three starters), three of us had the smoked trout, and two of us had the veal - all beautifully cooked, and generous portions. We finished up with the mousse, which was fantastic, and all washed down with some delicious wine. Three courses, including wine, for just over 35 euros per head, which we thought was reasonable. Highly recommended, and we would definitely return - thank you!

Very much worth the visit. Starting with a lovely amuse bouche of golden beets, then with a rich and lovely consommé as a starter. We shared superbly cooked and flavoured lamb and beef main courses - both cooked rare and simply spot on. Not a step missed in the cooking and all courses were excellent with friendly and personal service and lovely seats outside. Highly recommended - c90 euros for the 4 of us including two large glasses of wine and soft drinks.
