We were only in town 2 nights. The first night we arrived near midnight and didn't get a chance to check out the place. All we wanted was a comfy bed, pillow and lots of quiet... We were out like a light! In the morning I was completely surprised that we could see Hwy 69 right outside our balcony. I never heard a thing. We were on the 2nd floor and enjoyed views of the hills and at night the twinkling lights from the highway. We actually had a small balcony to walk out on to enjoy the morning sun with a cup of coffee. When we decided it was time for breakfast, we wandered down the dramatic curved staircase down to the fireplace and the morning cafe. The whole ambiance of the hotel was old world European. I guess the name says it all. Forest VILLA. It was like we were transported to an Italian villa. Even the breakfast dishes had rich inviting colors. After 2 years of boring boxed breakfasts in other hotels, we enjoyed a meal with many choices. I'm Keto, so for me it was the scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage and bacon. But the choices included muffins, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, potatoes, etc... You could choose to eat in the dining/fireplace area or outside where you would find outdoor sofas, chairs, a fire pit and a lovely, sparkling pool. After breakfast we enjoyed a walk around the property which also has a very large, multi-tiered water feature in the driveway and the most gorgeous array of roses all around the side, which also had a small grass area that could be used for a small, private wedding ceremony - the arbor was set up for just such an event when we were there. Also, there was croque equipment set up. The area was super peaceful with plenty of birdsong. I noticed in the lobby there was also a bar where you could order wine and beer. We didn't have time to enjoy that, but there is always next time. The hotel room accommodations were comfortable and quiet. Now, it wasn't perfect, it is an older hotel and some of the fixtures in the bathroom were not in the more "modern" style. However, everything worked, there was ample hot water, towels, etc. Instead of seeming "old" it was more like you had walked back in time a bit and were enjoying the quaintness of the past - while receiving EXCELLENT and friendly service. Even the breakfast crew were friendly and personable! Honestly, I would stay there again in a heartbeat! Thanks to all :)

Great hotel off Prescott’s Whiskey Row

Reviewed By 747Whaledriver

Pro: Nice, clean, quiet old hotel, especially the suite rooms with king-size beds. Most all the amenities of more-modern hotels without the plastic, hose-em-out rooms of more modern hotels. Con: Pricey: restaurant and bar costs are higher than most others in Prescott. I get the feeling that the hotel is going through a lot of change post-Covid, with the rapidly-escalating supply-chain shortages and skyrocketing inflation. Rapid turnover? Might be a problem here. Television channels don’t have any commercial-free movies channels… but these are more inconveniences in an otherwise great property. One caution: if you’re disabled, it might be quite a wait for hotel staff to operate the employee-only-operated elevator during late-night through early-morning hours: otherwise, you’ll have to walk — carrying your suitcases down a narrow wooden staircase, especially if you have knee and hip problems. Definitely coming back, but planning on visiting other nightlife spots on nearby Whiskey Row.

Clean and spacious room except bathroom small and less updated. Breakfast selection was excellent and food was good. Pool area was disappointing. Parking could be tricky. There was lots of it but not necessarily near room and hard to find close to room if getting back late.

Relaxing stay, attentive staff

Reviewed By OlVirginny

This was my wife’s introduction to Arizona and it could not have been better. We had to arrive late (11 pm local time) and the owners more than accommodated us. Though the inn is on a busy road and our room faced the road, we had no trouble sleeping. And we live on a quiet farm. Part of that might’ve been the bed, which is was very comfortable. Our room is a little small but that was fine, as everything was done beautifully and our every need was attended to. Breakfast was lavish. The staff are attentive and the grounds are beautiful. Highly recommended. It is a short drive to downtown Prescott, which is fine with us since the Whisky Row area downtown gets a little loud at night.
