Reviewed By prb85Stayed here many times. Rooms excellent. Standard much higher than most 4 star hotels in this area. Food very good but quite expensive like for the hotel location. As well never had problems with jacuzzi or saunas. Highly recommended ?

Reviewed By JIM8950This hotel is maybe small in size but is very big in service. The staff were very helpful during my visit. The room I had was on ground floor and was spacious with two single beds. the toilet and shower were good nd clean. The breakfast is of a buffet style and of good variety. The breakfast room is seperated from the main hotel but is only a short walk. The restaurant is also in a seperate area from the hotel and is upstairs from the breakfast room. The menu is written in both polish and english and is off a good selection. The food was good and value for money. The hotel is located in a small shopping complex and has a good bus service to Katowice[45mins travel]. I would use this hotel again if in that area..

A Palace by name only, but comfortable and friendly
Reviewed By TomebambaPiekary Slaskie is a Silesian industrial town with little to interest the tourist in the immediate area - however the extensive park to the south and another immediately to the east of this fairly newly built hotel provide welcome green surroundings. About 5 kms to the north there is also the very large Smierlaniec park and lake (you will find the Palac Kawalera hotel here, but this is certainly inferior to the Palac Wisniewski hotel, although a genuine old - and a little run down/dirty - palace). The A1 motorway is close by (1,5 km) but cannot be heard from the hotel. As we checked in we were warned that there was a wedding party that Friday night and another the Saturday night and the hotel had taken the trouble to mail us advance notice of that as well. It was an appreciated gesture, but with a room at the top of the building we were not disturbed enough to keep us awake. Staff were all friendly and both breakfast and evening meal plentiful. The room had a skylight window, but one that could be opened and there was no feeling of being cramped up there under the roof. No lift up to that 3rd floor but wide and safe stairs and a roof balcony overlooking the park to the south. There was also an outside beer garden and ample parking both in front of and beside the hotel. Bathroom with shower was adequate and clean, water pressure so so, but at least more than a trickle and plenty of hot water. There is a Lidl supermarket over the brow of the hill (turning left as you come out of the hotel main entrance) and left at the junction at the bottom of the hill - about a ten minute walk away. The only point that did disturb me was being unable to get out through the front door at 5 am. We found the friendly receptionist in the ground floor kitchen/breakfast room and she kindly filled a thermos of boiling water for us and unlocked the front door - but in the event of a fire I wonder how guests were going to evacuate the building? Being locked from the outside is completely understandable during the small hours of the night, but locked from the inside...?! Nevertheless, a hotel I would recommend and three nights of good sleep and easily accessible car parking means that I would not hesitate to return.
