Pension Sonneck

Our house is an Irish / Austrian family run business. Enjoy a quiet and relaxing location, amazing views of the Tennengebirge, just 45 km from the city of Salzburg. We offer private room rental. All rooms are double rooms and have a balcony with scenic views, wc/shower, Sat-TV. You can enjoy a buffet breakfast served each morning in our guest room.

Lovely B & B surrounded by mountains

Wonderful, super helpful hostess, fabulous breakfast and great views made this stay very enjoyable for us. Room had a balcony with great views. Close to Hohenhofen Castle and Bischofhofen was a bonus. We had trouble finding restaurants open at this time of the year but found a gem in Werfen called Werfenerhof. On the down side the bathroom was quite small and the TV was really small ( but I believe this is being rectified soon). I strongly recommend a stay at this Pension.

Decent accommodation

Reviewed By Sof_explora

It was a convenient accommodation for a 1-night stopover during our journey back home. Our room was rather rustic, but functional. Highlights: - Friendly hosts - Free parking - Free WiFi, working decently - Decent breakfast offer What could be improved: - It was very warm at night; a fan or AC would have been welcome; or mosquito nets at the windows - Payment in cash only - I would have personally welcomed a later check-out, until 11.00 (versus currently 10.00) and breakfast until 10.00 (instead of currently 9.30). Not everybody is an early bird, especially on holiday ;-)

Beautiful setting

Very nice owner, beautiful setting-high on the hillside overlooking valley. Charming grounds, clean, rooms somewhat dated but quaint, decent breakfast. Balcony with beautiful views. Stop in town for supplies before heading up the mountain and enjoy a sunset picnic.

A gorgeous quaint chalet hotel between Innsbruck & Salzburg

Reviewed By Dianne W

We wanted to spend a night in between Innsbruck and Salzburg in Pfarrwerfen. We found this gorgeous chalet hotel. It is in beautiful countryside, is so beautifully decorated. has a big balcony going around it with a great view overlooking the mountains from both sides (be aware there are no lifts in these chalets so if this is a problem for you, discuss before booking). And they have some animals which I loved going and looking at (and feeding the white rabbits!). I really loved our stay here and highly recommend it. We also had a lovely dinner there and a great buffet breakfast. Extremely hospitable staff too.

Highly recommend!!

What can we say about this place?? We have stayed in a few farms in Austria but this is def the best for location. Only a 20 minute drive from Salzburg and very much in the mountains! It has the most incredible night sky views from the balcony and on a clear night you can see layers upon layers of stars ?It is very much a working farm with ducks roaming and cows for milk at work. We particularly loved that every evening the cows were moved and their route was right under the balcony. We all had our favourite moo cow by the end of the stay ☺️. The hosts are so so lovely. They don’t speak English but that makes it so much more fun as we tried out best with the 10 words of German we knew ? translation apps were great when we needed a specific question answered. We stayed in the smaller flat on the top floor as it was fully contained. The larger flat on the middle floor is great but has separate doors to lock. I must add we felt completely safe despite its more rural location. Beds were huge and super comfy and there was everything we needed. We werw able to take our doggy too- they welcome hounds at a very small additional charge and even allow you to leave them in the property while you go out to a place where dogs are not permitted- although they are few and far between as Austria as amazingly dog friendly! If you are looking for a warm welcome, comfortable, traditional Austrian farm stay you will love it here! We are hoping to return ?
