Bala Cynwyd ( /ˈbælə ˈkɪnwʊd/ BAL-ə-KIN-wuud) is a community in Lower Merion Township which is located on the Main Line in southeastern Pennsylvania, bordering the western edge of Philadelphia at US Route 1 (City Avenue). It was originally two separate towns, Bala and Cynwyd, but is commonly treated as a single community. This came about when a single US Post Office served both towns (the "Bala Cynwyd" Branch) using ZIP code 19004. The community was long known as hyphenated Bala-Cynwyd. Bala and Cynwyd are currently served by separate stations on SEPTA's Cynwyd Line of Regional Rail.

This is a great fish store. We typically stop in there on a monthly basis for sushi grade tuna that we make as tuna steaks for dinner. I haven't tried their other fish but everything is fresh.

Fusion style menu. Mid-range food at 'fine dining' prices.Based upon its reputation and reviews, our granddaughter reserved for four to help her celebrate hir university graduation. It is beautiful, and the dishes that were not sushi were rather good. The sashimi was worse than disappointing. The serving of 2 pieces of hirame was about the size of a quarter coin, but a bit thicker; price $6. In comparison, the macadamia chicken was a large serving and very good; price $20.In reviewing our total order, we'd consider POD to have quality appropriate for a mid-range restaurant. Except for the sashimi, the quantity of each dish was satisfactory. We did get a couple of unusual desserts that were okay: tasted above average with rather high prices (appropriate for a 'fine dining' establishment.The music is loud; therefore, to be heard across the table you have to be loud. This was not what any of us expected. In fact, it was so loud that it took awhile after we left for our hearing normal conversation to return.

We attended my cousin's engagement party at Evviva and the service was outstanding. The appetizers were delicious and included latkes, crab cakes, and satay chicken. The salad and house dressing was memorable and the entrees were enjoyed by all- especially the salmon. Dessert was perfect, fruit, a small cannoli, and small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Our time together was perfect thanks to this venue. Now the wedding will be even more fun! It was a wonderful evening.

Mannyâs has been a place I have visited over the years and when I havenât been for a while- when I return I remember the reason why I stayed away! Mannyâs food is average, but overpriced!I have dined-in (Crab Cakes;Salmon) and ordered take-out in the past! This last visit was take-out for the lobster roll; fries and coleslaw. The lobster roll had nice chunks of lobster-but everything else was lacking. The lobster roll wasnât creamy-it was dry; lacked seasoning and the fries and coleslaw appeared to be an after thought.There are other place who offer more bang for the buck and I will remember to choose these options in the future! We were staying in the Marriott over the road and chanced upon this really good Japanese restaurant. Service was friendly, proficient and fast and the cuisine was first class. Very contemporary and up-market design. To be recommended. Cost for 4 with a beer each and a lot of sushi and sashimi was $230.

I was in Philly on business and the team found a restaurant close to our hotel. Nice quiet atmosphere, very friendly staff, and daily specials. No alcohol is offered, but you can bring your own bottle of wine. Now that expectation is out of the way. The food was outstanding! The four of us could not have been more please each of our meals, the appetizers, simply excellent! We had no room for dessert but they sounded wonderful as well.
