Since moving up to Bucks County with the wife, I've been pretty content with the food options around. We've tried pretty much everything and have found ourselves enjoying it. We tried Red Lion Diner and...yeah, it's good. Nothing fantastical, but it's enjoyable. They make a good Pizza Steak, which I thought was a nice touch to my home city. The diner's pretty clean, the waitress was chill. My only issue is actually more of sympathy to them. Lancer's Diner is right down the road and it is LOADS better, plus more popular. They have better food, not to mention how Red Lion Diner's blatantly trying to be like them, what with the claw machines and the similar settings, lol. Anyways, I think this one is more of a underrated classic. Take it for what it's worth.

Lancers Diner

Stopped for breakfast based on the amount of cars in the parking lot. The problem with that is that for all of the cars, no one was eating. The diner had a lot of empty tables but most of us were just standing and waiting. Once we were seated the waitress had little or no time to care about our service. It wasn't that she was busy, she just didn't seem to care. We ordered and the portion size was big but it had no flavor. Everything was bland and I get that it's a diner but I've been to some that really care about their food. The home fries were burnt so much that you couldn't get them apart. There are other diners just down the road that are way better. Pass on this place.

The size of the menu tells it all. Frozen, reheated, mass-produced. I have eaten here many times but only for the convenience factor, like snowstorms, power failures, etc. The scrambled eggs are hacked to death and taste of oily grills, the dinners vary from pretty good to just bad. The salad bar is the best part; its large, generally fresh, and very popular. I will probably continue to eat there, but at least I know what I'm in for. However, it is very popular with locals, sso maybe they know what to order.

Cross Keys Diner

We missed several fast food place on our way up from Gettysburg and happened upon this place. It was very spacious very clean looking. We were greeted by the hostess immediately when we came in. The waitress was quick and very cordial. I had split pea soup which was delicious and then their wings. I ordered the mild which had a honey mustard type of sauce on them that was just delicious. They were extremely crispy and yet still very moist and tender. They were not greasy at all. They were so ample I ended up bringing three home for later. My husband ordered a turkey club sandwich the portion was huge along with numerous french fries. He too couldn't finish his lunch. I will be sure if I'm in the area again to make this place a stop. It's a matter of fact I'd go out of my way. Hope you find it as appealing.

This is where the locals eat--we saw a constant influx of patrons in their eighties, walkers and all, coming here to dine. The portions are large enough for two to share one sandwich or entree. My veal parmesan covered two plates, one for the veal and the other for the pasta. A salad came with it. The veal was lean, the breading thin, the sauce and cheese generous. The flavor was bland, hardly spiced at all. If you have a sensitive stomach, this meal will not upset you at all, and you will have plenty to take home afterward. My companion tried the snapper turtle soup. It was a brown bisque, very salty, and the meat tough. We had never had snapper soup before, so we seized the opportunity to try it. Check that one off the bucket list! Her chicken/spinach/feta cheese sandwich was a double portion, half of which went home with us. Quite bland, but it filled a stomach hole. These two meals, with tip, and two fountain drinks, cost only $24. Their desserts looked tempting, but there was no way we could eat any more.
