In the heart of the Greek summer where all restaurants offer the same standard « Greek » food for the tourists, this restaurant is different. You choose your food in the kitchen. We had giouvetsi, gigantes, gemista, and a Greek salad. Nothing extraordinary but good tasty real Greek food. Very efficient, no frills service, very good prices.

Very genuine place, as to be in family.We had great salads tasty and large size.Orange juice good as well, while omelette nothing special.The lady however very kind and quick in serving.I would like to have chance to pass again, to try other specialities. This specific tavern was founded back in 1896, when the Greek state was taking its first steps.It has a history of over 120 years.The great grand son of the founder is following the route of tradition.The plates being served are harmoniously adjusted in the Greek rural environment.Being just two persons we tasted only the peas the special spinach pie the lamp in the wooden stove and the wild pork.The lamp was excellent and very smooth and not smelling at all - the father of the owner is actually breeds such lamps.The wild pork was also hunted by the same letskny and the homemade pasta were handmade by the owner's mother.The desserts were also handmade and delicious and the red wine very tasty.It was the best choice out of the rest restaurants of the area and the place ere you can taste traditional Greek flavours.I totally recommend it.

For a place in this little village (where we stayed), absolutely wonderful food. Everything was amazing, big portions, great service. Superb for families. If you are staying in the area (eg Mazaraki Guesthouse), absolutely walk out the back gate and try this place.

Came here mainly for lunch but did come one evening and had the very large mixed grill...jenga of food! Amazing freshly cooked skewers of meat, meat lovers heaven. My daughter loved the pitta gyros which they were happy to do without onion and tomato and the pork skewers. Can't wait to return, missing the pitta gyros.

We had a very friendly waiter. Food was good but nothing really really super spectacular. We had humus and cheese as entrees and a large mixed grill for main. For three this was more than enough as the portions are quite big.

We enjoyed a lovley lunch at this restaurant, overlooking the Kalamata Marina. We ordered a variety of dishes, all were excellent. The pasta is home made and wonderful. My father claimed the Salmon was the best he ever had! The service is good and friendly. The location is superb. I've been with friends for lunch to this restaurant, we've had beef in tomato sauce and pork cooked in ''kioupi''. Both dishes were delicious, but I strongly recommend pork cooked in ''kioupi'', taste was excellent. Also restaurant offers food in very reasonable prices and staff is always friendly to advise for food.

Found it when walking in Kalamata and it was a great surprise because we saw the reviews after being there. They have a nice terrace, itâs full of local people and the waiters speak good english. If you want to try real greek food (pita, greek salad,...), very tasty and for a good price, this is a great place.
