This restaurant is top of the bill. The owner was chef in another restaurant (as owner) in the past, later his brother Massimo became the chef where Vincenzo is the host now. Traditional Italiab food, very good quality and prepared with love. The love you can taste.
Price level rises a little (heep it affordable) but still worth every penny. Nice staff and good atmosphere.

Que Pasa

Reviewed By Worldtraveleratheart - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Even though this restaurant has been in town for several years and I've passed it a million times, never before have I had an opportunity to actually go in for a Tapas dinner. And what a great dinner it turned out to be! I've heard people rave about this place for so long you can imagine I was thrilled to finally get the chance to experience it myself as a surprise birthday dinner last month.
For those who are not familiar with the Tapas way of eating let me explain. Tapas are small, both hot and cold, dishes originating from Spain. This is just food heaven because you get only a small amount of the ordered dishes so you can have a go at a great variety before being full. You can order a dish for yourself, but it's só much more fun to order all sorts of dishes for the entire party to share together. That's what we did. (6 people)
The menu is great and offers a vast variety of vegetarian, meat en fish dishes.
We started the first round with bread, serrano ham, bacon wrapped dates, mushrooms in garlic oil, soft goat's cheese wrapped in serrano ham drizzled with honey, cheese and spinach croquettes, garlic shrimps, iberico beefburgers and beef tenderloin.
You can go for as many rounds as you like, so no need to order everything at once. We continued our dinner with the spare ribs, a nice pumpkin seed salad, ham and cheese croquettes, beef tips and some more items we'd tried in the first round. The combination of flavors is just pure joy.
We finished our evening with dessert. No really typical Spanish desserts, but still very tasty.
They serve a good variety of beers, wines as well as juices and softdrinks.
'Que Pasa' is a true 'must' for all foodies out there. If your staying in the Rotterdam area, it's well worth the 20 minute drive. Trust me, you won't regret it! Have a Sangria to complete the Spanish feast. It's delicious! Hopefully I'll soon be able to go in for another meal and try some of the dishes I haven't tried yet.
Friendly staff, great service and cozy ambiance.

Wok King's Palace

Had dinner at this Chinese restaurant several times when visiting friends in the region. The food is terrific, especially compared to other Chinese restaurants that I am used to in The Netherlands. The atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant is nice and the service as well. King's Palace offers both á la carte, takeaway and an all-you-can-eat formula. Usually me and my friends choose the all-you-can-eat formula. But the á la carte dishes are better, the price of those dishes are a bit higher but definitely worth the try!

We come here almost every week.
I recommend everything but love the Athene platter with two Suzuki's instead of one Souvlaki and one Suzuki.
Anke, my wife, loves the sole. This is the best sole ever!

The entree and main dish look fine and both were taskfull. The entourage is nice especially in the summer when the roof can be opened. Service is fine but there could be a little more attention for the customers. Price was fine, not a very expensive restaurant. Enough parking lots.

Lunchcafe Zonder Meer

Reviewed By Worldtraveleratheart - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

After being recommended to go and have lunch at 'Zondermeer' for several times by different people today I finally took the time to check out what the buzz was all about. My friend, her two year old son and I had lunch here today. (june 13th) We were welcomed by a friendly smile and taken to our table.
'Zondermeer' is a lunchcafé situated in the city center of Oud-Beijerland and is right across the street from the (paid) parkinglot.
The lunchcafé first opened it's doors in November of 2014 and is run by an amazing team of young people with a physical or mental disability. (supervised by the manager and a chef)
I ordered the 'BLT sandwich' and my friend chose the 'kroketten sandwich' to share with her son. I was very surprised by the size of my Sandwich. It was HUGE! And when I HUGE, I mean HUGE!
No thin machine cut bread, but thick slices of hand cut fresh bread covered with a nice dressing, a melange of lettuce, tomato and of course bacon. Lots of bacon :) It was amazing! There's no way I could've eaten the whole thing, even though I really wanted to....
We had several of the staff members serving our tables; one taking the order, another asking for refils, and another to serve our sandwiches;
all of them doing an amazing job and making sure we had everything we needed.
It might take slighty longer than you are used to before you get your order but all the staff seems dedicated to give you great service and make sure you enjoy your meal.
I can see what the buzz was about! Great food, great service, friendly staff and nice, open atmosphere.
Make sure you pay a visit to 'Zondermeer' if you're in the area! Oud-Beijerland is only a 20 minute busride from Rotterdam, so if you have a couple of hours to spare make sure you visit Oud-Beijerland's lovely city center and enjoy a great lunch at 'Zondermeer'.

Natuurlijk Aan Het Spui

Reviewed By Worldtraveleratheart - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Just had dinner here with two friends. This is an absolute, somewhat unexpected, little gem right in the city center of Oud-Beijerland! I learned about this place by word of mouth, which always makes me curious if it is as good as people say it is. Every word I heard about this place is true; it had a lovely ambiance, friendly and helpful staff, VERY good food at affordable prices'
Located right by 'Het Spui' this cozy restaurant is definately worth a try! There's a small menu, yet with more than enough choice. Meat, fish or vegetarian dishes which are all orderable in either small (entree) or large (main course) portions and you can mix and match to your own likings. We had the Beef Bavette with rocket and potato wedges and the Pork butt (Procureurslapje) with chicory and wedges. For dessert we had the double chocolate mousse with vanilla and the French toast. (Wentelteefjes) Everything was just perfect! Fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared, amazing flavours and choosable portion sizes at very reasonable prices; what more could you want?
I'll definately go back!
