Not sure how long Dairy Hut has been here, but as long as I can remember. When I lived in town I loved to walk the couple blocks with my young grandchildren to get a cone and then walk them back home to the bathtub!

Portillo's Hot Dogs

Home to America's favorite Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef, burgers, salads, and chocolate cake.

You have to watch this operation closely, there are over 30 people filling orders, organized chaos, BUT IT WORKS. Staff is friendly, helpful and courteous, prices are fair and food is served hot and good. They serve an astonishing number of guests every day. I do believe they have changed the flavor of the juice used on the Italian beef, it appears to be less "Italiany" but it's still one of the best beef sandwiches anywhere.

The food and coffee is pretty good, and the main selling point is the unique products and warm decor. My main issue is that the owner can be rude, so I don't go back often. Nice hangout spot for lunch or a coffee otherwise.

Tap House Grill

What began in the fall of 2005 as a dream of bringing together fresh, made from scratch “addictive” food alongside a large selection of local “creative” handcrafted, exclusive and rare beers on tap is today a reality at Tap House Grill. The dream of delicious food and exceptional beer became a reality on November 11, 2006 when the first Tap House Grill opened in St Charles, Illinois. Tap House Grill Addictive Food/Creative Brews currently operates 8 locations including Des Plaines, Hanover Park, Lemont, Oswego, Palatine, Plainfield, St. Charles, Wheeling. In 2015, THG Franchise Group was founded to provide owner-operators the ability to expand our concept. It is safe to say that “Addictive Food” and “Creative Brews” along with great times are now being served up fresh daily.

We read online about the beer brined chicken was so good. We went to order the chicken the person took our order. Several minutes later our server came back and said it wasn't in the menu anymore. Wouldn't you think she would have said something when we ordered. Then later the manager came by and said they didn't prep enough of the chickens. We got there at at 4:00. So which was it? Don't lie to me just tell the truth. I ordered the BLT it was okay but nothing oh wow. A lot of bacon but serving the mayo in the side didn't make much sense. This was our second time trying this place not sure there will be a third. The last time we were there the service wasn't great.

Sakamoto Japanese Grill and Sushi

Reviewed By Mike V - Oswego, Illinois

Sakamoto is an excellent sushi house in Oswego, IL. While non-descript from the exterior, it is quaint and cozy on the interior. Ther service is always excellent, and the assortment of sushi, sushimi, rolls, drinks, etc rivals much larger and more well known restaurants. They are expanding this spring as well, which I was told should be done by April. This will alleviate the sometimes-long wait times since the current setup is so small (seats perhaps 30?).

Emerson Creek Pottery & Tearoom

This place can be hard to find. Luckily, I went with someone who had been there before. I know most people have GPS programs, thank goodness. This place is so quaint. You forget where you are once you get there. You dine in a cute little Farmhouse. The menu isn't big but all the food was excellent. I had a chicken salad sandwich. It was very good. It came with homemade potato chips and fruit slices. I had mine on a pretzel roll which was delicious. You can choose what time of bread you want your sandwiches served on. I had the Mint Chocolate Chip chocolate cake. It was so good! I think this is more of a lunch place for the ladies. Most men probably would not be happy with the serving size. It was perfect for my friends and I. You definitely need to make reservations due to the size of the place and its popularity. They were having a wedding the day we were there for lunch. They have a beautiful tent set up on the grounds for private parties. The grounds are a beautiful place to have a wedding ceremony. We went into the shop after eating. A lot of unique items but pricey. Looking forward to going back.

This is without a doubt the best chicken anywhere. Great meal deals, shakes, fresh lemonade and waffle fries. But what makes them great is the very polite staff who are very attentive to their customers needs.
