Oscoda is an unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Michigan located on the northern side of the Au Sable River where it enters Lake Huron. The community of Au Sable is on the other side of the river. Oscoda is in Oscoda Township in Iosco County, and not in Oscoda County, which is to the northwest. The 1990 census population was 1,061, although 3,000 personnel were stationed at nearby Wurtsmith Air Force Base. Oscoda is a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes. As of the 2000 census (several years after the closure of the air force base), the population was 992, and in 2010 the population was 903. The post office at Oscoda first opened with the name AuSable on September 23, 1856. The name changed to Oscoda on July 1, 1875.

This a nice restaurant. The place is dated, but the food & service is always good. I have been going for 14 years to this place. Definitely would recommend it !!!

Outside, walk-up service. Typical of most DQ's menu items which do not provide indoor seating. The location is dangerous as people have to stand on busy street corner. Young children should be kept under a very watchful eye. Service can be slow frequently.

Full service Resort with an on site hotel with lakefront cabins. Across the street from Lake Huron we have our main building with the hotel and restaurant. In our hotel we have an indoor heated pool with two water slides. Outside a firepit is available (wood provided) and a playground.

We were staying across the street at the Huron House and thought perhaps given that this restaurant is situated near a luxury bed and breakfast they would have improved the quality of the food and dining environment. We were wrong. Let me start out with saying our server was friendly and attentive, she was the only positive part of the experience. The room was set up almost like a cafeteria and the formica on the tables was peeling off, there was a terrible odor when you walked in the door of the lodge that diminished slightly when you got to the restaurant. The carpeting was stained and dirty, the whole space gave a feeling of being dingy and gross. The menu consists of a hodge podge of bar food and attempts at upscale dining and I won't even get into the numerous spelling errors on the physical menu. The food itself was bland but edible. We will not be back.

This is the classic too many options specializing in nothing place with a penny pinching owner watching over everyone. Our visit was rather unpleasant once the owner stepped in. We were trying to navigate the menu and instead of answering questions she just pointed to the boards outside. There was no system or organization to what was listed where. Sizing of seemed to be dependent on a cone and ice cream type but we couldn't figure out if we could get the cone/ice cream type in the size we wanted.
The soft serve is nothing compared to what they have at DQ around the corner. The shake was very thin and tasteless - it was more like chocolate milk with chunks of peanut butter and pockets of ice cream.
They say they serve Strohs ice cream, but if they do it isn't as good as what we can get in the grocery stores. Either its a bait and switch or they don't keep it fresh.
Can't really recommend anything about the place.

I had the wrap here the first time and I came and never looked back. I think the group of guys I was with came here 7 or 8 times in the month we stayed and it was awesome every time! Be prepared to take food home with you as the portions are HUUUUGE!

We visited here twice during our week long stay in Oscoda. It was a very clean establishment. Has plenty of aloholic beverages, food was good but a little on the higher end. Did not have a sports bar atmosphere and only had a few TV's.

From the guacamole to the fajitas the food was excellent, who would have thought in this little beach town you would find such well prepared and yummy favorites. Taco Salad and Enchiladas were served with lots of meat/cheese and beans. We all brought food home, portions are large. Dinner for three with tip under $40.00. A liquor licence would be a great plus..
