La Pizzeria

Dine in or take out. We have seating inside the pizzeria for 12, two tables of four and two tables of two. Tables can be combined for larger groups. In warmer weather there is a table on the sidewalk for two, very popular. Kitchen can be seen from seating

My wife and I stopped here for lunch, on Thursday, September 6th,2018. We were greeted by the owners, as soon as we walked in. They were so friendly, and explained the Special of the day. We ordered a medium 3 topping pizza, a meatball sandwhich, and a ceasar salad. The salad was amazing. One of the best we ever had. The pizza and meatball sandwhich were both absolutely delicious. WE will definitely go back. great owners, and great food.

Fornetto

SO happy to discover Fornetto thanks to friends of ours who are regulars here. The four of us had a fantastic, leisurely meal and absolutely everything was delicious. Grilled calamari excellent. Loved the salad special (with poached pear and goat cheese). Veal chops (enormous!), seafood linguine- all of our entrees were outstanding. Complimentary home made limoncello and tiramisu were such a nice touch. Nina is a wonderful and welcoming hostess, you can tell that she pours her heart into every meal she prepares. We have travelled all over Italy for the last decade, and this restaurant is on par with any of our favourites there (or in the GTA). We will definitely return! We are truly grateful to you for choosing us as your service provider and giving us the opportunity to grow. None of our achievements would have been possible without you and your unwavering support.Thank you.Fornetto

MMEA is an unusual name for a restaurant. But that's OK because MMEA in itself is unusual as a restaurant and this Italian eatery is one of the newest restaurants in the small town of Stayner, Ontario.Four of us went there for dinner recently on a weekday. We arrived for a late supper and found ourselves as the only patrons at this just-off-the-mainstream restaurant.I say that this restaurant is unusual because it has a funkyness, a charm, a character all of its own that it is much different from mainstream restaurants; especially formula-founded, franchise restaurants.MMEA's staff welcomed us promptly. Let us pick our own seating (we chose by the window to the street) and took our drink orders as we started to review the menu.Three of us had alcoholic beverages, beer, or wine.MMEA has quite a story to it. Where we were sitting is the small restaurant and it is adjacent to a catering and take-out outlet by the same name immediately next door. As we sat, we watched people arrive and then leave with take-away orders.Michele Frustaci is the owner/chef and he learned to cook from his mother and aunts in Italy. MMEA has a track record of catering and food service that reaches back to Alliston, which is not far to the south from Stayner. It's in Alliston that MMEA opened its doors in March 2009, by Michele who emigrated to Canada in 1981.MMEA won the 2016 Consumer's Choice Award for catering in the North Greater Toronto Area, according to some background information on their menu.Their menu covers a variety of Italian dishes.I stuck to the basics spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs are made by Michele from veal and chicken and they also sell them at the popular Music by the Park event in Downtown Stayner.Michele's wife Fiona helps anywhere she is needed and on the day we were there she was shadowing James, who works as a server at MMEA.Our meals arrived from Michele's kitchens and after consumption all agreed that they tasted good. Total cost for our four meals and drinks was just over $100.00.But there's a funky side to Michele's restaurant. Not only does he interact with patrons by visiting frequently and talking about his restaurant, the food, or ensuring that you like what you get, but he also sings.Yes. There's a karaoke setup at the back of the dining room and while we were there eating Michele seranaded us with a Frank Sinatra rendition of “I did it my way”.MMEA is name for Michele's children's names in order of birth, Michael, Marc, Elise and Alex. For sure, Michele is doing things his way and appears to be succeeding.
