While on a business trip my group of three specifically sought this restaurant out due to locality and reviews. It is a very small sushi joint that you could walk right past and does not have any English signage. Upon sticking my head in, bowing politely, and asking Sushizen desu ka? The man behind the counter smiled nervously, nodded and referred to the one customer in his restaurant. He then looked up and squeezed out a painful "reserve do". While we didn't get the crossed arms telling us absolutely not, it was enough not to point out he had one guy and 7 seats. So to be fair, it may of been a legitimate reservation, but it was not delivered in a way that reflected genuine regret. It would of been nice to eat there.

This is a sushi shop, which can be seen as above the usual kaiten sushi stores, like sushiro, but above the small sushi master places. You can seat at the counter and then the sushi master will directly give you your sushi or at the table, where you will be served after filling in a paper where the sushi are listed.Suiten is has a great price/value and I highly recommend this place!

After searching, even higher price restaurant hit, but I felt that the balance between price and taste was good.

We came here twice on a visit Oita. The menu isn't in English so you need a little Japanese or just be brave and pick from the delicious images. We tried the sashimi and the sushi, both of which were quite delicious. We also tried the local speciality of tempura chicken called tori-ten along with a breaded fried tuna dish that was spectacular. Overall this was a delicious delight and we will happily return here any time for the wonderful food and the traditional Japanese style restaurant.
