Whenever I am in the beautiful mountain vilage of Covas I come here. This is a friendly, family-run café/restaurant with plenty of seats either in the recently-added dining area or outside on the leafy shaded terrace. On weekday lunchtimes, as is common in Portugal, there is served a dish of the day (O prato do dÃa) to cater for workers where, for 6â¬, you can have a main (meat or fish), bread, house wine, dessert and coffee.This is unbeatable value which I've taken advantage of several times.In the evening most of the best things - in my opinion, anyway - come from the charcoal grill, which again will feature meat and fish quite highly. It's traditional Portuguese food cooked and served well. The service is friendly and quick, while being relaxed (no one would say a word if you took 3 hours to have dinner, say)The all-Portuguese wine list is varied and, though I've only sampled the cheaper end, I can say that it's probably all going to be good. Recommended *****

We called in here after seeing the sign from the side of the road. It was clean and well set up. not too many people in but it was late and we were hungry.We couldn't read the menu, but my brother asked for steak and the waiter pointed it out. we all just decided to have steak . great choice. It was perfect. beautifully tender and tasty. served with frites - very like crisps, but we forgot to put the "batato" first, we May have got chips if we had.The waiter was very friendly and attentive. excellent service, excellent food, what more do you need,after we had ordered, a fellow diner asked if she could help us as she spoke english, so it was a pity we ordered in such a hurry as there may have been something different we would have liked..we would definitely go back there again.

We had dinner the first evening and did not change the restaurant during our stay. Home atmosphere, very good service and nice food for a very good price makes this place to recommend. For 2 persons we paid 35 - 45 ⬠all inclusive (more than enough for a couple) with entradas, 1l red or white house wine, main course, salad, dessert and porto wine. Bacalao a modo di casa is perfect.

It's the second time I go to this restaurant and I got both times the same excellent impression. They dont have a super long menu but the stuff they do is pretty nice. It´s a bit more expensive than the restaurants in down town Vilanova de Cerveira but the truth is that they have a better *everything*, from service to nice tables and tables clothing, views, food, surroundings, terrace covered with vines, quietness...etc. This is my favourite place in Vilanova, no doubt.

We had lunch here: I tried the octopus, which was delicious and generously served. My family had meat, some had codfish "à Maria José", and said it was delicious (beware in case you don't eat meat: they put ham in the codfish dish). Extensive choice of wines. As a starter we asked for the cheese+ham plate, which was disappointing (the only low point of the meal). Friendly staff.

We visited the Alto Minho region and stayed at Hotel Minho (right next door - truly amazing place). The restaurant is excellent for dinner. Very local cuisine and wonderful service (which you don't always find in other parts of Europe). Highly recommend it for dinner with friends or colleagues. Try the deer meat - a speciality of theirs.

The food was outstanding and the service was very worming and comfortable. The price is very reasonable as well since we had a great experience with some great food! I really recommend this place if you want tasty fresh food!

It's been quite a while since I had such a wonderful pizza.Correct amount of everything, from the tomato sauce to the mozzarella cheese, not forgetting mushrooms and olives, as well as the other ingredients.Very well cooked. The base add the perfect texture and taste and it wasn't 'carbonized' like many Italian restaurants often do.It didn't took that much to have them made even taking into consideration that the bases were not previously done.The only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because in spite of having a nice, modern and fresh look it's a bit tight in there. It's not the case of having too many tables because they can very well handle it, it's the space that it's a bit small...

We went with family and friends and found there super quality dishes a wide choice of drinks. Fantastic Sangria!Very friendly service speaking port, span, engl and german. The cake is wonderful.The cosy atmosphere you enjoy by good music on the esplanade. The enterior is very original done from portuguese cork and wood. Imagine! For less than 10⬠per person you are filled up with nice food and good drinks!We enjoyed Curt'isso!
