Ordered a takeaway drove over 10miles to collect it only to find they hadnt made it correctly. Called & explained & advised we were missing a dish. They weren’t interested and adamant they weren’t wrong. No apology or worried that we were unsatisfied. The food we had was nice but nothing special. Will not order again.

I went to the newly refurbished restaurant in the Millbrook Lodge Hotel mid-week with a couple of girlfriends. We had reserved a table for three and once we arrived we were seated at a table by the window. The tables were well set out, cutlery and glasses sparkling in the light/ We were offered both the set price and the a la carte menus. There was plenty of variety to suit all our tastes and the wine menu was also filled with a lovely selection of wines. The restaurant is open each day from 0700 serving breakfast right through to dinner.Monday - Saturday 0700 - 2100, and Sunday to 20.30 hours. For those of you who may be interested, I am aware that a specialised Senior Citizens Menu is on offer Monday - Friday 12;00 - 14;00 hours (except during Bank and Public Holidays).Have a look at the Hotel website for the menus on offer / additional information (including "Kiddies Corner").Now back to our meal - the waiting staff took our order for a bottle of house white and whilst none of us had starters we went straight for the mains,,,,.I chose from the set menu opting for Pan-fried Salmon with Olive lemon creme served to the side. there was no asparagus so instead, I received an apology and a selection of vegetables (but that suited me perfectly), champ potatoes - it was delicious and very colourful. The others had Battered Portavogie Scampi, salad and chips and Pan-fried chicken breast, a duo of Parsnip, fondant potatoes served with a red wine jus. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal - the service was good, friendly and prompt and none of us had any complaints at all.Unfortunately, I couldn't persuade the girls to join me for dessert, so I had Christmas pudding and requested custard instead of brandy sauce - not a bother to the waiter or the chef. The pudding was moist and tasty - another successful choice.Finishing with 2 coffees and another glass of house white, we chatted for a time before noticing we were the only customers left by 10pm (there has been a party of four when we arrived and a table of 2 - so it wasn't so busy on that particular Monday night, but then many restaurants are the same at the start of the week.We paid £85.00 and toddled off to the foyer to explore - each of us very well satisfied. The hotel was very festive and the newly refurbished area with an addition of a beautiful function room was a pleasure to see.I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for food - very tasty and a good night.

We had a large business lunch here... the service was excellent despite the restaurant being very busy. Our food was served promptly and although we each had different meals, all were brought roughly at the same time and piping hot, very generous portions and totally delicious! After the main course we were all pretty full, but decided to go for the huge puddings... I would highly recommend the chocolate brownies 10 out of TEN!

Was trying to find somewhere nice for lunch and remembered reading about here in local paper and wasn't disappointed. Only wanted something small but that didn't matter as service was excellent and nice atmosphere. The corn fed chicken dish was to die for, roasted individually and worth the wait. Will definitely be back for more. Very reasonable for the quality.

We called in for a drink and a bite to eat...unfortunately our food was just awful...considering it wasn't busy I don't think the chefs were under pressure, mine was so bad I left it..bacon and brie salad full of leaves , no dressing , undercooked fatty bacon, weird small cubes of brie about six pieces...no flavour at all, ......my partners sandwich was so poor , dry, without mayo or other sauce , a bit of 'salad on plate no dressing either , he ate it as he doesn't like complaining! Disgrace!
