This restaurant is conveniently situated in the city center. It is a casual dine in place. There are wide varieties of rolls and sushi choices at extremely reasonable pricing. The food served is delicious and authentic. Service is very friendly. Overall an awesome restaurant. Would very highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Rotorua and craving for Japanese food.

We stopped by this little shop to grab a quick bite for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Long line of locals and tourists queue up for their fresh and varied choices of sushi. We ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box (good deal for $12.50) and the chicken katsu (for $10). Delicious, good portions and great service. We got their loyalty card and will be coming back for more the next time we are in town.

We go to Rotorua quite often were very pleased to find find Kia Ora. Despite the name, it is genuine Japanese. We had the best of the lunch specials. Each element was right up to expectation. The service was quick and very frienly. Not a busy lunch place and should be much, much busier. This is now one of our lunch places when in Rotorua.

Great little gem hidden away at distinction hotel. Great decor, vibe, and service. Need to book as itâs small but it adds to the atmosphere. Delicious range of skewers and sake. Definitely worth a visit!

Fast, affordable, and delicious. This is definitely a pleasant surprise! It's owned by a Japanese family so rest assured that it's as close to authentic Japanese cuisine as you can get in Rotorua. Seating inside is a bit limited, as are the tableware, but takeaway is a good option to get your sushi fix. Maybe not the best restaurant in town, but definitely worth a visit.

We had lunch at Yamato Japanese restaurant. We had set menu- there are different options you can choose including sashimi / chicken / fish etc. Food quality is good, sashimi is fresh n chicken Karagae is good. Pork cutlet is not so good. Japanese style decoration, they have sushi bar seatings as well as proper dining tables. No wifi . Overall, recommend for people who are into Japanese food.
