As regular visitor of Texel, we sometimes do eat in the Smulpot, known to us as a reasonable priced restaurant, where you can have a decent meal.Our last visit was a deception: the gamba's were tastless and swimming in a layer of oil (1.5 cm depth). When the waitress asked it if we did like the food, we friendly told him that this was below expectations, This resulted in a remarkable reaction: "this is how we cook it, because this is how we like it." . Turning his back to us, and ignoring us the rest of the evening.This is unacceptable behaviour.

I visited this place more than 10 years ago amd remembered it well for it's great food. After all that time, when i was back on the island, i convinced the family to go here and we were not disappointed. This is tbe best place to eat on the entire island! The dishes they serve are superbly tasty amd the overall atmosphere here is nice and casual. A must go for anyone on the island!

If you are looking for a place where to have a good lunch or dinner in the resting island of Texel, then this is the place you need. Something simple to eat, pick one of the many pannekoeken. Something more sophisticated, try the famous Texel lamb dishes. The place is simple with a terrace on the country side. Service is ok and pricing not cheap but still acceptable.

This is an excellent restaurant. The atmosphere was cosy, the service was excellent, with a smile and at the right speed. The food was first class and not expensive. The only problem is, it is not open every night. We went on Monday night and wanted to return on Tuesday but was told it would not be open until Wednesday. Worth a phone call before you go, but definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Somewhat hidden in the backstreets of Den Burg on the island Texel you'll find this little hidden gem. Freshly made food, fantastic friendly personnel, a cosy interior. Sit down, order a tea or glass of wine and enjoy! Well recommended. Thx so much for these friendly words. After a winter closing of almost 2 months, it feels so good to meet our ''friends'' again. Let's call it a cute restaurant. It serves fresh fish, it serves Texel lamb, which was the reason we came. And we were not disappointed. A delicious meal, a memorable meal.We had a great time. One thing to remember, reservations are a must.

We had a lovely dinner at Bosq. We, being four adults and five children. The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful and stylish with an open kitchen and fresh flowers on the wooden tables. When entering we thought perhaps this place was a little bit too fancy to have dinner with children, but they do offer some dishes especially for children. The waiters and waitresses were absolutely lovely: they immediately gave the children some pencils and paper to color and they were friendly and entertaining throughout the meal.The Bosq concept is simple: they don't offer different courses, you just order any dish on the menu that you like. All dishes are smaller portions which is great for people who have a hard time choosing. The waiter recommended we order at least two or three dishes. Since we already had a hefty lunch, we stuck to two dishes. In case you're hungry, you'll definitely need to order three dishes.Each dish was beautifully presented and very tasteful. I really adored the albacore tuna and the duck was a sensation to the taste buds: so succulent! The dishes of my companions were equally as good. It is clear the chef knows what he is doing.Would love to return to taste the experience menu. Highly recommended.

Whilst holidaying on Texel, we celebrated our wedding anniversary with our two boys (aged 9 and 13) by introducing them to fine din8ng in Kook Atelier. They were a little nervous beforehand, partly at the thought of experimenting with food and partly because we don't speak Dutch. As we entered the restaurant, any fears were quickly dispelled as our waitress greeted us in excellent English and went out of her way to make us all feel at home. We went for a six course 'surprise' menu, with added amuse bouches. We were not disappointed; every course was made from fresh, local produce and was presented with beauty, style and in one course humour (a delicious seafood dish served in a sardine tin!)The taste combinations were exquisite, with parsley sorbet, served with strawberries in multiple forms, a real surprise hit! The service was also exceptional, the waitress and chef going out of their way to ensure we all got the most out of our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a truly fine dining experience. Thank you. Thank you so much for this wonderfull review, hope to see you again!

The restaurant is well located on the small place of the nice village Den Hoorn. The atmosphere is extremely friendly, the waitresses are extremely kind and funny, and we have spent there three memorable dinner and evening. The food is family type but well prepared, and very tasty. Follow the advices of the waitress, we have discovered interesting and original meals from Texel. A very nice place to go with friends, family and even your lover.

Delicious food, often made from local products like a variety of Northsea fish, shells, crab and of course Texel lamb. Jef is really a mastercook, creating stunning yet harmonious flavours. I loved the sweet Northsea crab with a mild light sour yoghurt style sauce. Fantastic langoustine, short grilled with a strong aromatic 'Dashi' sauce. Nice detail are the matching breads by each dish. Very thoughtful wine arrangement, great hospitality by Nadine and her crew. Can't believe this is only one star. Trip worthy..
