Aroma Cafe and Bakery

Fantastic tiny bakery & cafe located where Mr. B's used to be, just steps from the courthouse. Not fast food, but good, healthy, tasty food. We had a wonderful chicken salad (chunks of chicken, black beans, corn, tortilla strips, onion, tomato, and more over a bed of lettuce) and an excellent pimento cheese and bacon on artisan toast with homemade potato salad. While this was our first visit, it will not be our last! The bakery display has a small assortment of wonderful cookies and baked goodies!Warning, only open for breakfast and lunch!

My wife and I were looking for a place to grab something to eat in the morning and wanted to avoid the chains. We decided to drive a little out of the way to Midland Bistro. We were greeted and seated promptly in the casual and open dining room. Coffee and milk were derived quickly. My wife had the Croque and I had the Southern Eggs Benedict. Both were quite good. Total including tip was $29. Will visit again.

This small quaint restaurant has an archway open to the Sanford Antique Mall if you want to do any antiquing. We had a great server. My husband ordered a grilled chicken salad sandwich, before I got to the table, for us to share. My first bite sort of shocked me because it had a different taste to it. I looked at the menu and saw it was made with vidalia dressing. I wasn't sure I liked it (but that was only because it was different). After the second bite I was loving it and was wishing I had more than just a half of sandwich to eat. If I had seen the menu before he ordered it I would have say no. This is a great example of not being afraid to try something new. You may just find something new that you love.

We all enjoyed our meal, but I think I loved mine the most which was the grilled cheese (cheddar, provolone, and pepper jack) with tomato and spinach. Hubby had a breakfast wrap and loved it, g-daughter had a club and almost ate it all, and daughter had a ham something. We had two cups of the bean and ham soup and it was fresh and delicious. You are sure to be pleased when you visit.Thank you so much for taking the time for the lovely review. We hope to have you back again soon!

I had the reuben on rye and was rather pleased. The bread was toasted and the pastrami was perfect. My friend had the veggie sandwich without the focaccia bread and he loved it. We came at the height of the lunch crowd so our service was a bit slow. The cafe is nice and clean and well decorated. This is a great place for lunch just tucked in off Broad street. I highly recommend it and will be back.
