Pailio Arhontiko stands out from the other restaurants next to it not only for its wonderful menu but also its beautiful decor and wonderful service.
On arrival you are greeted with a smile and complimentary glass of sparkling wine and get your first chance to explore the menu. We tried a number of different dishes and none disappointed. From the pork bites, octopus, marinated chicken and salads all were beuatifully, cooked, flavoured and presented. The service was attentive but not over the top. We went just before they shut for the winter period (they open again in April) but were still fed and looked after well. For an after dinner treat try the dessert wine and homemade dark chocolate and nit bites - absolutely amazing!
We went twice in theweek we were in Crete and I will certainlygo again when I return to the Island

this places is in vassilopoulo 3-4 km after spilia village in kolympari hard to find but the food is very very good.cretan cuzine with most of the products is from them...Family run taverna .....wondefull people.

Despite staying in a place with self catering facilities I ate out several times during my holiday, at different places on the island & this was my favourite. The food was delicious & very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was lovely & the staff were the friendliest.

We have reviewed Kali Kardia in Afrata, Tis Litsas Ta Kamomata is the other restaurant on the right!
Firstly they serve the local unpasteurised beer, if for no other reason drop in for that! The Taverna is family run and of the same high standard as Kali, you honestly can't divide either (apart from the beer).
Comedy moment? The lamb and goat from the grill is usually the same meat, although they may forget to remember what you ordered when serving;

On the beachside and one of the best spots in the area to see the sunset. All fresh ingredients from the family farm and vineyard along with fresh fish to chose from. We were recommended here from a local and were very impressed with the service and food. Excellent choice for families!

We ended up here as the food at our hotel although good wasn't hot. What a find. The staff are excellent the surroundings lovely and the menu extensive. The food and wine couldn't be faulted and the portions were huge. The second time we visited we shared a main course. Nothing was too much trouble even adapting a main course to a starter for my partner as I'm allergic to fish but he loves calamari. They also provide a small dessert of vanilla ice cream dusted with cinnamon with a lovely orange sponge cake and fresh peaches and a small bottle of raki (wow, blows your head off stuff) on the house after each meal. Both nights came to approx €50 inc wine and water. It was well worth it.
Would recommend this place if you in Kissamos.

I ate Papoutsakia, my favourite Greek meal, and it was absolutely delicious! The service is good, the prices are reasonable and the location is wonderful. I spent the heat of the day under their umbrellas enjoying a lazy drink with generous free nibbles, and then sat on the seafront to eat dinner. Both times the staff were friendly and helpful. Really good place.

The waiter spoke somewhat good English, after a few false starts in regards to what we ordered we had a nice dinner.
Food came out at different and slightly random times and the pictures in the menu were quite obviously from Google images and not what they served.
If you go- order the chicken souvlaki on the grilled kebabs. Very very delicious!

What a hidden gem. We found this restaurant mentioned in the book at the villa we were staying. We had the freshest fish and fabulous sardines. Excellent friendly service and the beach and lagoon in front is a great snorkelling spot. Breathtaking views on the road down.
