We had a bad experience at Bamboo restaurant probably the worst restaurant during 2 weeks in Asia. We had grilled goat which was supposed to be a house speciality that arrived fried and full of oil. We went for an early dinner we were the only customers in the upper part of the restaurant, but waiter kept chatting loud with another woman ignoring us completely.

Reviewers lavish praise on this place on Tripadvisor and in the Rough Guide too. And rightly so! It is not to be missed if you are in Ninh Binh, whether you are a backpacker or someone of a more comfortable income. It is stupendous and it is no wonder it receives such outstanding reviews. Not only are the portions massive (even if you go for the smallest of the four size options, I defy you to eat it all!), but the quality is there too. This is simply the best value restaurant we have found in 11 days in Vietnam, and we have eaten at some plush places in Hanoi where we paid four times the price. And it is freshly cooked for you while you relax with a cold and inexpensive beer. Service is friendly and efficient, and the staff will happily call you a cab to return to your hotel. A great must-do in Ninh Binh!

We ate very good in this restaurant on our trip. The staff was so friendly. We wanted to eat chicken with cashew nuts, but they didn't have it on the menu. The waitress then went to the store and ought some just for us and made a new dish.- that was amazing and so friendly!!!

The Food here wasn't the best food that we have ever had, it was ok, the Goat's meat was tough for me, the Sping Roll and fried Vege were nice. What i like the most was crispy and crunchy rice was dipping in a great sauce. The staff were very friendly, they arranged for me the dinning table in their nice setting garden, it was very nice.

Very clean and comfy restaurant with delicious food. Service and quality is terrific especially pho noodle soup is truly father cooking! Would recommend this restaurant as the price overall is very fair!

Enjoyed a relaxing lunch here... great spring rolls in particular. The owners of this establishment have gone to a lot of trouble to make it a very inviting, quiet space away from the hustle and bustle of the road... and they have succeeded.

Had dinner at Duc Nhat as it was close to where I was staying, the food was great, I ordered the chicken curry and spring rolls, the portion was probably enough to serve everyone at the table. The food was brilliant, the service was excellent (the owner speaks fluent german), it was cheap and the owner went out of his way to help us out, my friend hurt his toe and the owner gave him bandaids and a bottle of antiseptic to keep, along with bananas to take away. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Service, food and price was bang on!
