Second trip back to Grill 73 passing through Pigeon Forge. The dishes are as flavor filled as I remember! The sweet tea is a new addition that I loved, I highly recommend! There wasn’t anything I tried that wasn’t of high quality. We will be back again.

One thing is for sure, they have excellent coffee. The pastries and cookies are bakery good and the atmosphere is generally quiet without thinking that you're in a library. The wi-fi is always a good thing.

We live in Dandridge and have family in Newport. Visiting more often now because of these lovely people and their awesome product and attitude. Very nice, but quiet. Probably not used to Boisterous (who me?) people with lower than average blood sugar. At Least before my shopping!. Lovely chewy pastry. sour cream cakes are awesome and go great with a cup of hot Community coffee. My family used to act shocked when I brought a full boxed dozen or even Two, Now if I get less than a full dozen, I am told to "go back for more" Go early and get all you want because even with a full display they run out fast. Actually, I am thinking you better not go at all because I'm gonna need to go later than usual tomorrow and I need two boxes.

Lois's Country Kitchen

Reviewed By Katrinal1925 - Knoxville, Tennessee, United States

My Husband and I stay in Newport 3-5 times a week, we finally decided to try Lois's, it's Wednesday, let me start with the salad, it was THE BEST part of the meal, the soup was amazing, but that's where the good stops, the spaghetti noodles were VERY VERY mushy, and they just kept refilling it with water, the sauce was good, but we only tasted it due to the noodles, the white pasta dish was mushy, the bbq meat was ok, but drowned in water, there was some sort of broccoli bite, it was also cold.none of the food was warm, it was cool at best. The banana pudding was the worst I have ever had, old bananas, and it tasted gritty. Overall, we will NOT be returning! The buffet is $7.99 for the dinner we had.

Cracker Barrel

Reviewed By AlPhD - Hilton Head, South Carolina

In years past, I never had much of a positive attitude about Cracker Barrel restaurants, always of the opinion that they were too noisy, crowded, with too many screaming kids, too many overweight people, too many unhealthful items on the menu, etc., etc. But on a recent road trip from our home in The Sunny up to The Frozen North, I’ve radically changed my mind… so long as you get a decent seat and order just enough of the right stuff. My mate and I did exactly that a couple of times during the trip for both lunch and dinner, and we were very pleased. ¾ veggies (green!) and ¼ protein (fish!), veggie soup, minimal bread, no fizzy drinks and no desert is the formula. Fill up on Brussel sprouts or something similar. Cracker Barrel has it all. Just be prudent and ask. Where else can you do that and get that? Not at some fast food joint. Share. It’s the best deal around and the people are usually fine and professional, and the value is tops. Plus, there’s the store with lots of stuff, including hard to find old time candies, that’s a real bonus. Yes, my attitude has changed dramatically and we’ll be spending more time at Cracker Barrel on our frequent trips hither and yon.

Stopped in because of the decent reviews but our experience left alot to be desired. The waitress was abrupt and unfriendly and when we finally got our food half of it was cold. Everything was apparently just pre-packed and frozen so the quality was definitely lacking. The worst part however was that everything tasted like old grease and cigarettes. If you're looking for good diner food, this ain't it.

Fox & Hound Bar and Grill

Great Newport fixture for over 30 years. Known for our slow roasted prime rib and Black Angus Rib Eyes. Love seafood checkout the lobster tails!!!

Reviewed By Kim E - Morristown, Tennessee

I went back here to try the Fox and Hound again since they have new owners- managers but its still the same terrible food only more expensive now! The french onion soup had 2 pieces of onion in it, the salad wasnt crisp, and the prime rib was terrible! I ordered the small piece of Rib medium well and of course it came out as a rib eye that had been cooked on the grill! The owner came over bragging how good the rib was and I said mine isnt and she said well they put au jus on the grill then the piece of prime rib to cook it more instead of dipping it in hot au jus. I didnt order a rib eye I wanted a piece of prime rib but again didnt get it! they took off the price of the meat but charged me for the soup and salad! The rest of my family had prime rib medium rare and it was full of fat and tasteless! So my advice to anyone who reads this is to save your money and go somewhere else!

Ruby Tuesday

Reviewed By ValGary2014 - Greenville, South Carolina

Our lunch was unexceptional overall. We had the shrimp primavera and the chicken mac and cheese. Both were good although the chicken was fried which was unexpected. The service was fine: friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The decor is very dated. Old furniture, horrible oilcloth tablecloths. We had to move to another booth because the seat was totally sunken in. The music is much too loud. We will not return.
