Reviewed By 638nadjasI hardly can express all the excellent things this hotel has to offer. Not only the owner Ahmed and his brothers gave us beautiful hospitality, also the spotless rooms have to be mentioned. The staff was very helpful and always there for us. They even waited with new towls for us after we arrived from our hot spring trip. They organised beautiful desert trips, took their time to show us everything and were always there for special wishes too. Ahmed tried his best to organise our travel from Farafrah to Hurghada, which he did with plenty success. The food was superb and tasty and very cheap. It was restful paradise for us. The hotel is calm and has a beautiful garden, it reminds of an oasis. I highly recommend this hotel and the offers they make! We even were invited to visit the hot springs under a sky full of stars . For family, it is highly recommended. I was there with my five kids and the staff gave them full attention!

Reviewed By B6517NKbarbarabI am at a loss to describe how wonderful the three days were that we spent at the Desert Lodge Resort. After two days I had every intention of writing an outstanding five-star review. The traditional architecture, the world-class views, the food, the hot spring pool and the caring and attentive staff were absolutely exceptional. As if that weren't enough, the staff, Hossam, the manager and our guide, Azooz, the chef, and Kareem, the housekeeper, surprised us with a magical Christmas Eve celebration. They decorated the Bedouin tent with twinkling Christmas lights, candles and balloons. Azooz prepared an extra special Christmas dinner that included an Egyption version of what we call in Southern California chicken melanesia. They even played traditional Christmas music while we dined. After dinner the 5 of us celebrated by dancing to American Christmas rock and roll favorites. Words cannot begin to express how touched we were that three Muslim men had gone out of their way to make Christmas Eve special for two American travelers so far from home. Our hearts were filled with gratitude. The lodge is ideally situated above the ancient, restored, mud brick city of El Qasr, where Hossam's grandparents were born and raised. He took us on a fascinating tour of the old city. That in itself is worth the visit to Dakhla Oasis. My husband and I have traveled all over the world and are frequently away for many months at a time. We have stayed in many beautiful and interesting places. But I do have to say that it is never the physical place that leaves the lasting memories. Memorable travel experiences are always about the people one meets along the way and the unexpected kindness and generosity of strangers. Hossam, Kareem, and Azooz will remain in our hearts and memory. I cannot thank them enough for giving us a magical Christmas. Our hearts runneth over.

An enjoyable stay - very helpful management
Reviewed By Sean CKharga does not see many foreigners and the hotel has seen better times but the management try their best. The facilities are good for the area and the swimming pool is kept clean. Each room has its own hot water boiler and the air-conditioning works The rooms were clean and everything worked (unusual for this location). Food was enjoyable and the management helpful.

Reviewed By oelkadi-2021Dieses schöne Hotel am Rande der Oase Kharga (New Valley) hat sich Umweltfreundlichkeit auf die Fahne geschrieben. Sämtliche Materialien stammen aus der Natur, das Gemüse wird im hauseigenen Garten angepflanzt, und die gesamte Anlage bietet eine ruhige Atmosphäre. Ganz pfiffig ist die Minibar in Form eines Tongefäßes. Wenn man das Wüstenklima ausklammert, macht das ganze Hotel einen sehr sauberen Eindruck. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, und das Abendessen wird nach Wunsch zubereitet. Bezahlung leider nur bar möglich. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sogar ein kostenloses Begrüßungsgetränk gab es dazu.

Traditional Bedouin Camp with friendly owners
Reviewed By 724iulianabThe Bedouin Camp is one of the best places you can stay in Dakhla Oasis. The camp has a multitude of domed rooms which are chill in summer. They all have private bathrooms and a small terrace in front with exciting views of the desert and oasis. One of the best spots is the restaurant with panoramic views. Youssef is a great host and will make you feel at home from the first moment. He has lots of advice and a multitude of desert tour options for every taste. Don't forget about the hot spring just across the street - it is so refreshing.
