This is without any doubt, THE best Thai ANYWHERE, not just Bergen County or New Jersey. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Iâm very picky about my Thai food, but Iâve found myself coming back to Pimaan times again over the years. And Pimaan never disappoints. This is the benchmark every Thai place is judged against when I travel the world. And none has surpassed Pimaan. From the Duck Basil, to the frog legs, and crispy whole fish. All perfect. BYO wine or beer is just icing on the cake.

We've tried many Thai restaurants in the area, but were never happy. However, we have now found our new favorite Thai place. It is vegetarian friendly too, just make sure you tell them to ensure that your curry isn't made in an animal stock. I started with a fried tofu in a peanut and chili sauce, then I shared some vegetable rice. For my entrée, I had red curry with mixed veggies and my husband had green curry with shrimp. The only reason why I gave this place 4 stars is because our waitress made two mistakes. She brought out everything at the same time and forgot the beef in my husband's curry; so she gave my husband the added shrimp for free. (-$4) No hard feelings though, dessert was delicious too. I would definitely return! :)

Ammata Thai Kitchen is a relatively new restaurant in the area. It is a great choice for Thai food as it serves very fresh, flavorful Thai food which is very enjoyable. The staff here is super friendly and will make recommendations and explain items on the menu for those who are uncertain about various dishes. BYO & large parking lot on site.
