I wish I could have gotten sleep and had hot water

Reviewed By 307RC

I asked for a quiet room. I was on the 3rd floor and was hoping to get to sleep due to a big event the next day. Unfortunately given it was so hot I had to open the window at night. I one to sleep at 11pm and was woken at 1am due to a "boy racer" speeding up and down the road outside on the main street. I was going to ring the reception or Gardai but waited and it ended one hour later. At 2am there was then a lot of activity on my floor by people coming in from the bar or outside. There was lots of door slamming and movement between rooms next to me. Indeed someone tried to get into my room - I assume they were not sure which room number they had booked. I got to sleep at 4am and was up again at 7am for the event I had to go to. I was awakened to the sound of staff below my window outside on the ground. The morning after next I was due to check out and there was no hot water. I could not take a shower and left without being able to clean myself. Luckily I did not have any meeting I needed to go to that morning! I mentioned all these issues to the reception and got no apology or reduction in my food bill etc! Management will reply to me and tell me that I should have run the reception at 1,2,3,4am to mention this but I am not sure about whether this would have achieved anything. Certainly I received a standard form the email from the hotel looking for feedback but a week later I have got no response. Perhaps it was too much to expect a quiet room and hot water. The recession is coming.

A let down

Reviewed By michaelfV6139OK

When I booked this b&b I done what most people do read the reviews I was travelling down to do a basket weaving coarse and would be out all day when I arrived I was offered a cup of tea and cake which I thought was nice the cake was wrapped in cling film and it was hard not wanting to complain I said nothing. I asked the lady what time breakfast was at she said whatever time you want I don’t do it I’ll leave everything out. So the next morning I went for breakfast there was tea toast cornflakes the milk I used on the cornflakes it’s sell by date was almost up .On the second day it was slightly better the milk had been changed .Yes the lady that runs it is a nice person but there’s not much effort on the photos of her property it clearly shows a photo of a cooked breakfast the reviews are a few years old and things have changed .The rooms are clean

Good Night

We stayed here for one night and it was truly lovely! The rooms were clean, and had everything you needed. There's a good pub not far and it's also really easy to reach Nenagh. We all slept really well here, breakfast was good as well and the owners did their best to feel us welcome. They're a lovely couple and it was really great to talk to you! Thanks for being such amazing hosts!

5. Oldfarm

Oldfarm

We are a small B&B with just 3 rooms available. We can accommodate max. 6 guests. It is with great pride that we can say that your breakfast during your stay is most definitely homemade and mostly organic ingredients grown here. We also offer you the option of joining us for dinner ‘in the kitchen’ during your stay…. again, all home-cooked, probably home-grown and organic. Peace and quiet is guaranteed, away from hustle and bustle here in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. Just come sit back, relax and watch the grass grow, or admire the beautiful night skies with no light pollution to spoil the view.
