We pitched up looking just for a late morning coffee. Clearly a restaurant but not a problem so we have 4 very nice coffees outside with two small children. The restaurant looked lovely and that pizza oven so full of promise.
Thank you for accommodating us and we'll be back for a meal at some stage.
One feedback though, print those take away menus!

The Library Lounge is at the heart of the Hume Hotel. Located just off the front lobby, The Library has a cozy, parlour-like atmosphere with a replica of the original Hume Hotel bar (complete with brass) polished and prepped for your visit. Caryatids and original moldings decorate the interior, as does the original monumental brick hearth and fireplace that warms the room. Full restaurant meal service is offered, as are a selection of wines, beer and spirits to complement the live jazz and other music featured nightly.
We were staying for just one night in the Hume Hotel and after a long journey came down to the Library in the late afternoon for a drink and to relax. The atmosphere was so convivial that we decided to stay on for dinner. The...MoreThanks for coming in and we are happy that you thoroughly enjoyed everything. We hope that we will see you again soon.

Outer Clove Restaurant is a full-service, casual dining restaurant in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada that serves lunch and dinner. A long-time Nelson favourite, we offer contemporary and classic dishes from around the world. Garlic infuses the food-from a subtle hint to a more intense flavour explosion-while the service is warm and friendly and the vibe is casual. Everything on the evolving menu is freshly prepared from scratch and there are daily lunch and dinner specials. The dining room seats 38 patrons with a further 10 seats available on the seasonal patio.
An acceptable quality place with good service and reasonably priced and quality food. When I give an average rating in this case I would call is slightly above average and a better option then some of the larger restaurants in town. Better to eat here...MoreThanks for taking the time to review us, Guy. Our menu is almost all made from scratch which helps keep our prices reasonable and allows us control over quality. There is always room for improvement and thanks for your honest opinion. Tom

Thors serves great pizza. The calzones are excellent, the dough is really tasty. These are decent pizzas. If you want to avoid buying generic pizza from a chain this is the spot.

We had a birthday celebration here for my brother-in-law while visiting Nelson. They were vey accommodating when we asked them to add the candles we brought for his desert. There are vegan choices available and the food is very good. It seems to be a local spot as well which is always a good sign. It is a little hard to find in a side street/alley. There seemed to be only a small staff so it was a bit slow but then we are from the US that operates at a quicker pace.

We decided to drop in for some tapas as we had planned to go for a late dinner. Well all that changed once we were seated at the bar. Anglea and Hilary were Amazing. They seat you, take orders, deliver drinks....and more wine, and great food and then clean the tables and than again and again. The owners of this restaurant should take note that these 2 ladies are outstanding. The were running off their feet and the smile on their face was just a big face. The talked, joked and looked after you without hanging over you. The food was very, very good, the Foch was outstanding the ladies were just Excellent at customer service. I will return on my next visit.

We went to Nelson for am early winter break, its a totally different town in the late fall early winter. No hoards of tourist cogging the sidewalks.
So mainly the restaurants are full of locals or hardy travelers.
Not sure I like the name, but regardless its a nice conversion of an old building. The reno's are in keeping with the outside.
The menu is varied, the beer and wine choices are good and the staff at this time of the year at least were friendly and knew their menu.
The 4 of us had different meals so we could sample.
Everything was good, including the often terrible fired calamari.

This restaurant appears much warmer at night. The atmosphere changes completely.
The servers were great, not attitudes! But then it was early winter and the crowd's have left town.
The wine list isn't huge nor is the beer choice, but there should be something to please everyone. frankly I get a little tired of 10 page wine lists!
The menu is very interesting, you really have to read it as you will not have seen many of these dishes anywhere else. A pleasant surprise.
Although just about everything we had was great, I was disappointed with the crab cakes, compared to the other appetizers we had, they just didn't cut it.
On the other hand the Fisherman's Pie was really tasty and you wont find this anywhere else in town.
One of our party had a pulled pork Sandwich and this was super tasty.
Overall a great experience and we will be returning.
