Great location for simple R&R
Reviewed By erdospmThe Manga Rosa is a “Pousada” which technically is not a hotel and closer to a B&B. From our perspective it felt more like a small hotel but not a boutique hotel. The hotel is literally 20-30yds from the water. Although there are dozens of restaurants within walking distance, none of them is worth mentioning. We went to 4 restaurants and they all offer the expected seafood fair, salads, meats/chicken, etc. We didn’t get sick, the service was good, the ambience was beach-like and prices were fair. But none would get a grade above 6 out of 10. On a night we wanted something more flavorful we drove to “Camarão Potiguar”, also in Ponta Negra - they get an 8, but mostly for their super impressive order-service-serving process. Food was a 7. The Manga Rosa has a crew of very nice service people. Although they didn’t seem to have much creativity or flexibility to provide support out of the established parameters, within their capabilities they were helpful and nice to deal with. To us it was a surprise that a hotel that close to the beach did not have beach towels. When we asked the answer was a sympathetic “no” without options. When we got to the room we realized that we were issued literally 2 small bath towels and that was it. No face towel, no mini-towel (make-up wiper), nothing! So, the option of taking one extra regular towel to the beach was non-existent. Along with that, the rest of the room, and common areas made me call the whole offering as “Spartan”. Our room had a small balcony facing the street and the beach but big enough for 2 people to sit in. Because the hotel is fairly small and the construction close to the street sitting in the balcony gave us a small town, intimate feeling like we could participate in the life below. It was nice. The hotel is literally 20-30yds from the water. Although there are dozens of restaurants within walking distance, none of them is worth mentioning. On the fourth floor is the restaurant where breakfast is served (no other meals are prepared there). The location is open with just a thatched roof above and no windows, so you have a big view and a nice breeze. Again, super nice location. The food was acceptable but not to international standards. Overall, for the purpose of R&R, great location, no frills hotel, easy access. We enjoyed it. But if you’re looking for a more active nightlife, a more thoughtful food or a plush hotel, this would not be your destination. You can find it in Ponta Negra, just not right there.

Great place for getaway
Reviewed By Jackbe12Was an amazing location in a fairly isolated part of the Genipabu beach region right across a little inlet from the beach that is shallow enough to walk across during the day time, but that gets deeper as the tide comes in. The hostel had a great common area where you can relax in the sun all day long or hop over to the beach about a fifteen minute walk from the hostel door. The rooms were very comfortable, if a little Spartan. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Food for breakfast was good. Best were the various fruits and fruit juices that were available. Lunch and dinner were good food and reasonably priced. Wifi was a little disappointing, but made it easy to get away from e-mails and enjoy doing nothing for a few days. Beach was very deserted. Got windy at times, but was beautiful and relaxing.

Super, good-value budget hotel in Natal

The decor is a little worn at the edges (it is not a Hilton!), but it provides a very great deal for your money. At the time of writing, I paid about US$25 per night, for which I got - a very clean, double-bedded room, AC, cable (with BBC Earth!), en-suite hot shower, in room fridge stocked with water, soda, and beer at very reasonable prices, balcony overlooking the sea, hot breakfast buffet, hotel pool. Staff are very professional, and helpful. And there is a great open air seafood restaurant just across the street!

Across from the beach and lots of restaurants, shopping center and lots of things to do. No elevators so you will need to take the stairs to your room but after eating sooo much food at the each the exercise isn't so bad?. Easy to get there we took a cab and didn't need car while there. The hotel offers a shuttle but we didn't need to use it all

Good Inn With an Excellent Location
Reviewed By GlaukosKhalkedonPousada Coco Verde has an excellent location if you are planning to enjoy the Ponta Negra beach and the nightlife of Natal. The inn is situated right in the middle of the best nightlife area of the Ponta Negra neighborhood and you can reach the beach in a few minutes. You can also go to the city center in 45 minutes by taking a bus at the main street (the price was 2.30 Reais, paid on the bus). The rooms are not particularly large, but they are nice. All hotel amenities are satisfactory and everything functions. The inn has an interesting policy about entry and exit. The front door is always kept locked, and you are given two keys: One for the front door and one for your room. As a result of this policy, you may not see the staff each time you enter/exit, but they are always around. My overall experience at this inn was very positive and I would definitely come back.

Reviewed By 564davibGreat location, good breakfast, and decent room services. Wi-fi worked fine near the breakfast area, but the sign was poor inside the rooms. This is place is a good option if you want a low-cost place with good benefits. It doesn't have a good infrastructure for remote workers yet, but it is possible to adapt some items.

Reviewed By sue3436Visited on a Monday lunchtime. Pub was fairly busy seemed to be doing quite a trade on food. The four meals we had were absolutely lovely you can’t beat £5 for an 8oz rump steak! - bar staff were also very pleasant will definitely visit again.

Reviewed By Carvalho2918The hostel itself is very cute, aesthetically speaking: well-organized, clean; and there are several advantages of staying there: have a balcony with a hammock to catch the sea breeze, has parking in front of the hostel, the staff is very gentle and friendly, and the breakfast is very varied and tasty. The rooms are very rustic (remember that is not a hotel: then you certainly aren't looking for glamor and fortune), but they are quite spacious, there are a fridge for you to take your "delicacies" and all of they have air conditioning. There are a beautiful view for the beach from afar.
