Most Popular Wine Bar food in Oia, South Aegean, Greece

Find out what Wine Bar restaurants to try in Oia. Oia is carved out of the cliffs, and visitors can see houses built for Venetian sea captains as well as the more typical "cave houses" of the villagers. You’ll find the pure white buildings with colorful roofs that are typical of Greek architecture, and you’ll probably enjoy poking around the town. But don’t breeze through in an hour—you must stay for the sunset. It’s legendary. Watch from a café, or, better yet, from a boat—you’ll be spellbound.

My first night on Santorini (after navigating through the masses during sunset hours in Oia), I found my way to the magical courtyard of Oia Vineyart. Immediately, I had heard that Oia Vineyart had the best selection of local cheeses & wine, and rather than fight the crowds for a table, I was hoping to take some of these local delicacies back to my terrace for a relaxing evening overlooking the caldera. Immediately George and the team took me, explaining the different wines on their extensive menu, and even having me taste a few before purchasing two exceptional bottles of the Assyrtiko varietal. Then came the really fun part -- George cut up five of his favorite cheese from the Cyclades, and I did a mini tasting right at the counter before he packaged up the perfect portions for me to snack on during my short solo vacation to Santorini. But perhaps the best part -- as I was eyeing the local fish soaking in olive oil, George selected his favorite -- the mackerel -- and prepared it with the most delicious combination of herbs & spices. It was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. Finally, before departing, George was kind enough to invite me back the following evening, when he mentioned that they would have live music in the courtyard. Of course I obliged, and I'm glad I did. Participating in a more formal wine tasting in their beautiful courtyard (while listing to exceptional live music) will forever be one of my favorite memories of Santorini (and perhaps Greece). Thank you Oia Vineyart!

I wasn't a fan of this place. The server continually tried to upsell us even when we gave a firm "no," and the octopus I had was completely inedible — so fishy I was concerned about its freshness/quality and just overall gross. (I rarely say this about any food, especially octopus.) My sister enjoyed the prawns, and the gyro was OK — a little dry and very overpriced. Wine selection was a plus. Overall: The only reason to come here is the stunningly beautiful view, and I'm sure it's possible to find another place that picturesque that serves decent food.

Our hotel recommended this place (only restaurant where we could get a last minute reservation) and it was a huge disappointment. Ambiance ok, service good, food - awful. We started with a salad that was soggy and overloaded with a heavy but tasteless dressing. Our pasta with seafood tasted and smelled horribly fishy. Risotto was mediocre. We left 3/4 of our expensive meal on our plates and got gelato on the way home. There are so many amazing places for fine dining or cheap, delicious food in Santorini - and beautiful sunset views from lots of other restaurants. Definitely go elsewhere.

Amazing view, beautiful music accompanying the sunset, service was top, knowledgeable, with a true smile on! They explained their philosophy and all their genuine cuisine. Very different and unusual cocktails and the sushi we were offered was exceptional. The small tour around the property was beautiful as well as George and Dimitris our hosts. Definitely recommended. Will come back soon. Thank youAlexandros
