Time seems to stand still in Evora, a well-preserved medieval town that features protective walls, a 13th-century cathedral, several palaces, and a 1st-century Roman temple. No surprise that the town center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Even though it’s kind of creepy, don’t miss the Chapel of Bones, where the remains of nuns and monks are arranged in a haunting mosaic.

Every dish is wonderful and extremely well priced. We loved it so much we went back again 3 days later. You will experience flavours you have never had before. I’m not a foodie but this stuff is good. $5-8 euros for most of the share plates. 3 dishes and a bottle of wine about $40 euros. Very reasonable. This guy should be on one of those Master Chef shows. He’s a genius with food.

I don't mind paying good money for good food, but when the menu is so expensive, comparing to much better places in Portugal, it is sad.I ordered the goat cheese salad, which was a medium size salad, some lettuce, tomatoes, nice cheese, with VERY sweet sauce and no balance of flavors at all. Nothing delicate, just overpowering tastes. I guess the dish was supposed to be sophisticated. It really wasn't. Like a still in school chef. 9 Euro for that salad!!! Then came a pasta dish with sauted vegetables and mushrooms. Almost no flavor and no depth to this anemic dish. It is so easy to make a good dish with such fresh ingredients. It feels like this restaurant just ignores a growing group of vegetarian and vegan costumers, who want to eat a proper fine dinner, with some innovative touch and depth and creativity. To pay 9 Euros for very simple salad with very bad dressing, and 14 (!!!) Euro for a SMALL portion of average pasta, you can easily make better at home... That is just an insult for costumers. One of the worst places I ate in Portugal. No value for a lot of money.

We had very good service, wine and food selections. Our pleasant waiter, Bruno, helped confirm our leanings on food orders and amounts. We enjoyed both the mushrooms and the octopus salad. Tables are fairly closely spaced, so hopefully you can get along with your neighbours - in our case it worked out fine. Well worth revisiting to try other offerings.Thank you for sharing your experience in our hause Enoteca Cartuxa. With our best regards.

We had a great night out for our anniversary at Piparoza in Evora on a Wednesday night. We opted for tapas and had 5 vegetarian dishes. All were delicious. Service was good. Tables outside are just perfect for sitting in a warm and shaded street. Highly recommended.
