Casale Ugolini was an unexpected surprise. The view near the poolside is classic, dream, Tuscany. The food was unlike any other on our Tuscany visit. 12 of us at dinner, children and adults, everyone was excited about the multi-course meal, A modern, version of all the classics. Service impeccable. The Ugolini and Bruno family/ownersâ-made the visit friendly/ personal and showed us every detail of their slice of heaven on earth.

We ate here twice during our week in Tuscany.The service is generally excellentThe ravioli excellentThe local chicken also excellentThe steak we felt a little chewy The complaint from me is from our second visit. We ordered the chicken with truffle from the main menu (page open, pointed, used my poor Italian). The waiter asked if we wanted white or black (which we took to mean an option with that dish) , we shrugged, and said white.It wasn't until our bill came that we realised white dish is twice the price. For those who know truffles I'm sure that's obvious, but there was no warning or redirection to the separate truffle special menu.When we raised this we were simply told "I asked if you wanted black or white", and that was the end of the conversation. I can't really fault the food, but I think a more professional host would mention when they're taking you off main menu, or show some appreciation for the fact you clearly shrugged when asked to make the choice in the first place.Shame, walked away from a nice dinner frustrated and annoyed rather than planning to return. We came on a state holiday on a Wednesday evening. Note they do not open until 700pm for supper. They are nestled between two roadways with a big parking lots, so while there is outdoor seating we chose to sit outside. Inside is traditional Italian decore. Comfortable, friendly. Very clean and welcoming. Donât base opinions on the outside. Our first server was very open that she did not speak English. She sent over Francesco (hope I got his name right) who spoke great English and did his best to explain everything. The menu is huge, and my pocket translation book could not keep up with all the interesting and diverse choices. There must be 20 pizzas or more, plus the usual pastas, meats etc., but some have really interesting mixtures of ingredients. It actually takes a long time to figure them out. Each table is given glasses of proseco and orange juice to help you choose! We shared a salad and a pizza and each portion was definitely big enough. Without asking the kitchen split our orders onto separate plates which was nice. Our companions did the same but added a spaghetti dish too. No one left hungry. By the time we left, the place had filled with primarily locals, and there was a fun, busy vibe. The owner was quite friendly too and wanted to make sure there was no problem. A nice meal.Grazie!

Itâs down a beautiful narrow road with olive trees and wine all over the hills.Most friendly hosts. They took great care of our kids.Food was classic Tuscan dishes. Very tasty and we ended up very full and satisfied. Worth a detour.

I visited very often this excellent restaurant with my friends; the friendly owner awaits us, and brings us on our reserved table, he serves immediatly his best Tuscan wine,suggest his day menus and his recommandations; I like overall the excellent osso buccoand the fiori di zucchine; and the special desserts and not to forget il vino santo dessert with cakes from the region, (you dipped the cake into the Vino Santo) There is also a nice little terrace with a stunning view to the hills and landscape of Tuscany. Wonderfull Sunset. On the first time in spring on the terrace, there was a little bird disturbed by me, ( he was surely by the construction of his nest ..) and flying over our table and he makes me a wee in my glass of wine; I ordered an other glass, and the owner jokes about and sad : it's the nature .. cè la natura ..C'era Una Volta, -Is to recommend and like some things in life, - unique - .

This place is located off the beaten path, in a valley at a high end equestrian stables. There is ample parking in the front and rear, as well as access to the restaurant from both locations. Walking in there are plenty of friendly horses with their heads sticking out of their stables for both the adults and children to enjoy. There is an enormous amount of outdoor and indoor seating with lots of staff (good service), but you should call ahead for a reservation. They are very child friendly here. The restaurant is very modern. They have a nice wine list, and they even have a large selection of beers on tap. We have been there a number of times, both for pizza and for fish. The pizzas are outstanding. Their dough is made of a freshly milled organic local flour and their ingredients are the freshest possible. We have tried quite a variety of their pizzas and all were excellent. On one trip, the crust was quite salty, but every other trip was excellent. Do not discount their fish menu, their fish is also excellent!!! They make amazing desserts, save room!

Great restaurant in the small town in Montagnana We rented a villa half mile from the restaurant and visited it twice during our two week stay in Tuscany. Great Beefsteak Florentine, wonderful wine list at very low prices. The steak prepared rare tastes like no other beef. So juicy and with so much flavor.The place opened in 1938 and our waiter has been working there for 42 years.Mostly filled with local residentsWorth a visit!

Tonight we had a very good diner at this restaurant. We were here with friends and had a realy good time. The restaurant is a family business. The owners have passion for food, wine and hospitality. When you are nearby, you should definitly go there. Up until now it's the best food we had in Tuscany.

My friends and I visited Lo Zero for a dinner in our first night in Tuscany. It was an unexpected fine dining experience. The chef makes everything by hand: the bread, the pasta. Everything was fresh, local, and delicious. Really a great experience. We went with a baby, so we had to head out at 11pm (after 3 hours) so we missed out on their dessert and grappa, but I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a reasonably priced dining experience with fresh local food. The staff was welcoming and sweet; I will definitely make a point to come back here next time Iâm in Tuscany.
