Bala Cynwyd ( /ˈbælə ˈkɪnwʊd/ BAL-ə-KIN-wuud) is a community in Lower Merion Township which is located on the Main Line in southeastern Pennsylvania, bordering the western edge of Philadelphia at US Route 1 (City Avenue). It was originally two separate towns, Bala and Cynwyd, but is commonly treated as a single community. This came about when a single US Post Office served both towns (the "Bala Cynwyd" Branch) using ZIP code 19004. The community was long known as hyphenated Bala-Cynwyd. Bala and Cynwyd are currently served by separate stations on SEPTA's Cynwyd Line of Regional Rail.

The atmosphere, thereâs lights, the orchids placed strategically, and the delicious food make this a constant favorite haunt. My favorite is the drunken noodles and matcha ice cream. BYOB is easy as the state store is on the same street.

My wife and teenage son had dinner there tonight. Easy parking. Warm hospitality. Attentive service. We had the Golden Triangle tofu appetizer, chicken satay, and for entrees vegetarian pad Thai, teriyaki shrimp and I had the drunken noodles with mixed seafood. For mine, I requested 5 of 5 on the hot scale. It was loaded with fresh seafood and it was perfect! Very fresh.. We were all quite satisfied.Highly recommended!. Weâll be back soon.

My son goes here all the time & finally took me (Thai is my favorite food). There's a full service restaurant, Thai deli & grocery store. Everything you could possibly want & need.The restaurant is decorated beautifully but sit outside. The street is always fun & exciting & you can bring your dog!!!I recommend the fried tofu & the spicy basil dishes. My son always gets the curry. We also had the Pad Thai which was garnished with the freshest, crispest bean sprouts ever!!!Although service is a little slow, the servers are sooooo friendly & keep checking on you.

The sign said BaiTong. It is across from The Bala Theatre. I had their $8.50 lunch special plus chicken satay. The lunch special comes with achoice of either soup or salad. It is $1, more if you want a beef dish, $2. if you want shrip or $4. extra if you want seafood. The staff didn't ask what heat level and I didn't think to volunteer that I like it hot anf spicy. It could have benefited from at least a few red chili flakes. The portions were a generous size.
